On a wooden deck with colander set precariously on 2x4's on top of a plastic bucket. Brave man!
Oops! Check out the rust on that 'plastic' bucket! :(silly Tom)
All kidding aside, thanks for the picture. That looks to be a nice fire and contained just right for the small fires we like. I'm thinking this might be an easy way for my wife to get her necessary camp fire every evening. Too bad all we have is a beautiful SS colander. We tossed the old one. Goodwill, here I come to buy it back!

That colander is only like $5 at Walmart,But I am looking at buying a 16" or bigger colander.
When I drill a few holes in the base to get air under the fire I wouldn't be using the 2x4's.
When I when't in for the night I grab the colander by the handles(without gloves) and set it in the driveway with a cover on it.
It burned for a good 1 1/2 hr's with soft wood pellets(I could have added more to extend the time) .
The mid size colander would make a good table top fire if you set it in a pizza pan of large frying pan.
PS: I do have a bigger fire extinguisher right inside the house.
