When you log in, click on the box right below your sign-in.

Not sure why you are having a problem... There is the "keep me logged in" check box and it keeps one logged for successive accesses... Another issue may be your browser, do you have "save passwords" feature turned on or active for site(s)..

As for picture, have not noticed any water marks.... Maybe I need to pay more attention there...

Underneath the password box is a checkbox labelled "log me in automatically each time I visit" . Checking that box will keep you logged in even if you go dormant for some time. The next time you come back to the site you won't have to log in even if your browser was closed (unless your browser dumps cookies when you close out).

I have trouble with having to log in again in two circumstances. One, if I have my privacy settings high enough that cookies get deleted when I close the browser. I then have to log in each visit. The second is if my laptop changes networks. Not sure why this triggers it, but if I pull it from the wire and switch to WiFi, I will have to log in again as well.
The more stuff I take along, the more time I spend taking care of my stuff!

I do check that box, in fact when I went to respond here it just kicked me back to the log in page again. Sometimes I am midstream in reading a thread and the pictures will change from clear pictures to ones with the watermarks.

You cannot miss them, they show up if your browsing without being logged in. I am doing the same thing as you, but for some reason the forum will randomly log me off.

I use a password manager called lastpass that auto fills the password in then I don't have to remember a 100 different passwords. https://lastpass.com/f?511016

Forums, all forums, have in their control panels a session timeout value. The standard value for session time out is 300 seconds or 5 minutes.

If you log in and click on a thread and begin reading, your session will timeout after 5 minutes. But, if you click any forum link within the 5 minutes your timer starts over for another 5 minutes. Start reading on a page and take longer than 5 minutes and you are logged out. Start composing a post or reply, take longer than 5 minutes to compose and click Submit... logged out.

Why not just increase the session timeout value? It has ramifications elsewhere in the forum. The Who's Online and Last Online statistics are just a couple that go wack with increased session timeout values.

If when you log in you select the Remember Me box it sets a cookie on your computer that in effect extends your session forever. If you're paranoid about someone doing something to your account when you're away from the computer remember to log out when you finish on the site. (Or lock your computer with a password.)

Also, if the forum database has a hiccup the stored session IDs in the database can get out of sync with the session ID in your cookie. Often people complain the read/unread markers stop working and old Private Messages may pop up as new again etc. but it can also make logins wack. The only way to fix that is clear your tnttt cookies and log in again.

I hope that helps.
