A week from now we'll be CAMPIN' !!!!

Wash the teardrop, pack the..... oh yeah! Teardroppin' is easy.. most everythings already packed !!!

Well, looks like there's gonna be what? 20 of us? Potluck Sat night or anything?

I am going to bring a rubbermaid container full of firewood . If we don't use it then I'll leave it there for the next camper.

I'm trying to get pumped up to do a lot of work on my Jewel Box this weekend but don't think I'll have the $ for the hitch on my car so alas, tent will be up on my spot #44..

Hey you guys....I'm looking for something to do next weekend. I may drive over from Indianapolis. Not sure yet, though. There's a gathering over in OH that's only 3 hrs away...it's almost 7 hrs to get to MO for me. I don't know much about the OH gathring, so I'm not really opposed to driving a "bit" further to where you will be.

Looks like Site 48 and 49 are still open?

Julie,
Good to see you'r coming.I have a deal for you. My daughter wants to come, and bring my Rimple. I thought that we would be able to put both small trailers on one spot, but no can do. Trailer and a tent is OK, however. Since you are next to my site, how would you feel if I paid for the spot, and since you are in a tent, would you be willing to share your spot with my daughter. I would be grateful. Whatever you decide it will be good to see you again.

Hey Chris, the MO KANs are quite the accommodating bunch, let me tell ya!! So come on if you can. You would have to check the link at the beginning of the thread to see what's available. Go to the Reservation System and check for a "basic site" I booked a couple days ago and there was mine and I think #52 was open.

Hope we see ya there!

Are we going to shoot for Potluck on Saturday night. I could smoke a turkey. Everyone seemed to enjoy it at Beaver Bend.

Thanks Julie.

I checked and sites 48 and 49 are open, but only for Saturday night. The system won't let me make a reservation starting on a Saturday for some reason. I would do site 52, but there's no electricity there. I now have A/C and I think I'll probably want to use it if it stays hot outside.

I think I'll try calling the number tomorrow to see if they will do a split reservation and stay in another spot Friday night and then join the rest of you on Saturday in one of the open sites. I'll keep you posted.

Trudy will be doing her dutch oven cobbler for sure for Sat and probably something else. The hens are busy so we'll probably will bring about 5 dozen eggs so we've got alot of breakfast covered to.

Hope that you can make it Chris. It's to bad that the campgrounds won't let two tears on one spot. They take up less room than a fithwheel and probably use less electrictiy too.

Dave if you want to bring some rain you can camp in my backyard. I think that we've gotten about 1/2 inch in tha last 2 monthes and my yard already looks like August. The only thing I have to cut is the weed tops.

Chris, head to The Knob. It'd be great to have you and meet another builder and see how you did yours. I'm just guessing but I'll bet half of the people that will tent camp or just visit are building or are planning to build and would like to see as many different designs as possible................ya' know, just to confuse them even more  !!!

Our weather man said we might get 1/2" of rain today (Sat.) but I woke up at 3 am and it was POURING !!! So the 'firewood' is wet right now, but I'm going to set it out in the sun to dry up some. If that part of Missouri has a forecast for rain next weekend then I may have to back out. I really really don't wanna tent camp in the rain . If I was getting tons more done on the Jewel Box I would drive it up there, but I don't think that's going to happen. Unless me and the girls at work hit the Powerball numbers tonite... hahaha!

OH! If I had the hitch on my car, I'd be tempted to 'borrow' a neighbors Camp Inn or something but there's the $ again>

I am going to make a chunky, beef stew for Saturday potluck  !!

I don't know who is going to get there first but I won't hit camp until 8:30-9:00 on Friday because I have to work all day. It takes me 2 hours to drive to The Knob......... I timed it when we went to the Current River for Memorial Weekend. Everybody should just fend for themselves, as far as food goes, for Friday and we'll tear it up on Saturday evening.

Is anybody else bringing their dog(s) to this gathering?? I hope so  !!

We'll have our dog with us. Hopefully it won't rain and
we won't need a tent for her. She doesn't like camping,
but she likes to travel. (Although she does look pretty
content here with Linda beside her.)

I will be bringing POLISH Sausage, link size,Someone will surely have a grill going.I will arrive about 5PM. Site #46. See you there.
I took out the Boles for its first pull this morning, drove about 80 miles on all types of roads. It was great. No fishtailing, no drifting, no problems of any kind.
