poll where does the battery go?

I haven't built mine yet, but I intend to use a tongue box to store the battery and spare trailer parts.

I did not move the axle on my HF trailer so the battery is counter weight in the tongue box. In hind site the battery get a smoother ride in the tongue box then it would in the back of the camper. Battery's do not like to be handle roughly.

In my original design I was going to build a vented cabinet in the TD under the bed, but I changed my mind to get back some interior space. Now my batteries are in a tongue box.

My battery is in the rear galley cabinet just below the power center.

Ours is in the tongue box, There really is no room in the galley area and I want access. Ours is AGM so I do not have to add water, as you must with wet cells. It is also not out gassing so the solar controller (you want it as close to the battery as possible) sits on top of the battery box. Quite frankly I wish it were not as it is 100# and with the longer tongue than MM #1 my hitch weigh is more than I want (afraid to find out how much).

I put mine in the rear to help counterbalance the fact my axle sits 60% to the rear

Im idealy wanting to put 1 or 2 in the rear subfloor but until i get an idea of weight distrabution its hard to decide.

I bought the little 35 AH AGM battery from Harbor Freight. It's mounted under one of the seats, just ahead of the axle (inside the camper).

Mine is in the galley to counter balance the weight on the tongue.

My battery is in the galley, below the counter, and about 3 inches from the axle. I did not want that point load on the tongue.
