Howdy all! Been lurking around the boards and finally am diving in full tilt on my build. I will be building a pretty bare bones 5x8 extended tongue Benroy trailer. We dry camp in some out of the way places and we like to unplug when we go. So you won't be seeing any big screen tv's. No Microwaves, gensets, hot water heaters or any other electronic gadgets on this trailer. I will have have it wired with led lighting, solar panel, and a battery. For the galley, once again pretty basic. Mainly a prep area and cooking appliance storage area. No running water, no built in stove or propane.
My buddy is a fabricator that specializes in welding trailers and camp trailers. He is pricing out the frame right now and is going to work me into the mix. Once the frame is welded I will take it to the Powder Coat shop and have it coated. Then we will install the axle. While I'm waiting for the frame I will start on the side walls. I am going with the sandwiched insulated walls. Exterior and interior ply will be marine grade ply. I should mention that I build boats as a hobby, so I am well versed in the types of materials required.
Enough talk. Here's some photos of my plan, and a few examples of what cooking equipment I need to haul around.
