I really like my pellet smoker, I'm a low and slow guy so my big meats go on at 9 or 10 and then I sleep till about 5am. Don't ever have to worry about my cooker. I already have a sink setup I take on my open utility trailer which runs off 12 V. With that battery I also have an inverter if we have power issues, the pellet smoker takes very little power. Here is my latest one that I have built. About 21 sq ft of cooking space with a small footprint.

Yup. I've built about 15-20 different cabinet smokers in my spare time (Math teacher for my real job). This is just the latest design, and in fact sold it to a buddy who I will be delivering it to at the American Royal BBQ. Sorry to HighJack your thread. Hopefully my trailer shows up next week and I can start asking real questions.

Well figured I'd revive my old thread. I'm currently remodeling the inside of my CTC since it didn't work out like I wanted it to. Here is the update of the cabinets I am building and the new paint so far. Much more to go!

Somebody has some carpentry skills. I'm likin' it. Couple things, 1st what material did you go with for the counter top?
Also, I love that door, and had to take a double take when I saw it. I am using an almost identical design of door to separate the cargo/garage area from the galley. Mine is actually a 6 ft hand built door that is over 125 yrs old, that I have been holding on to for over 20 yrs. It was the door to the "Ice Room" in our house that originally was the cooler before electricity, when ice blocks were cut from the Yellowstone River and delivered thru a shoot in the outside wall. I have another door just like it that went to the "Coal Room" that fed the furnace. It is nice, but has the coal dust all in it.
Anyways, I like what you are doin there, have fun!

Thanks McDave.

For the countertops I just so happened to be at lowes and looking in the clearance section and the had 1 bundle of this laminate floor for $10 and thought that would make a great countertop. So I framed it all out, but down 1/4 plywood and then installed the laminate ontop of that. It's free floating to allow it to expand and the trim holds it in place very well. Does move at all and is level.

The door turned out great! I didn't originally plan on going for the old barn look but it just kinda happened the more I thought about it. I used 1/2 oak panel with 3/8 thick 1x3 for the framing. Brad nailed with 5/8 nails on the backside and wood glue. Very light and sturdy build. I still have one more exactly like that to put where the sink will be. Trying to decide now if I paint it all white or paint the trim white and stain the oak panel. All the trim of the cabinet will be white.

Beautiful. I will just throw this out there. My doors have what I would call a rough finish. I cant really see saw blade marks and it has a grey to white color but not painted, possibly just weathered? These are 1"x6" planks that are held together by the frame. The edges that are butted up next to each other are amazingly tight and straight. In fact they are very well made, but not like an interior finished door. I'll try to get at least one out of the cellar next week and take a pic. Just an idea, maybe whitewashed, still translucent but with some color/stain. Possibly some faux-tina/light distressing or ageing? Any way you go I love that style where the form follows the function. Simple but strong and the distinctive look that sets the tone and feel.

Added some more finishing to the counter. I cut the other door but need to order hinges since lowes can't find 30 of them lol
