Well I set myself a deadline by booking a campsite near destin FL.... For next weekend Sunday and Monday I've got today, evenings next week and next Saturday to; canvas, paint, finish my AC hacking, and wire tailights. That's the bare minimum...

Spent the morning working on it, in town now getting some more supplies... Back home to work on it till late tonight...

Left side, not happy about the seam.. It wanted to bulg up around it.. Might cut it out and lay a strip over the splice.. Any advice?

Joe, door looks GOOD !!! :thumbsup: You can likely make a flatter seam by puttig a canvas "tape" over where the folded seam is , or was.... :thinking: You know how to make a canvas "tape" that doesn't fray ... ??? It's easy ... Ideally ,you can undo the seam and flatten the canvas pieces on each side out so the overlap be trimmed in a single thin line ... If you cut out the seam on each side, that'll just leave a big gap and the tape will look like (****) over it ... Take your time ... But not to worry , we know good folks that finished their trailers at the campground ... True!!! The Bare minimum is waaaay better than a tent ...especially if it's raining ... :thumbsup: 8) ;) Good Luck !!!

The canvas "tape " can be made by brushing very thinned glue (75% water , 25% White glue or TB2 along the cut lines ... let dry then cut ... works great on edges, no fraying produces clean looking seams ... :thumbsup:

Thanks for the tips GPW..
What makes it worse is when I went to cut canvas for the other side I found I could just get the whole side covered WITHOUT the seam... Oh well live and learn..

Looking Good Joe !! We all Learn as we Go !!! :thumbsup: 8) Which is not a bad thing , because obviously the only thing the Big Trailer manufacturers have learned over the last 80 years is how to make them cheaper, not Better like we aspire to ... :R

Just a recent idea , You may want to consider adding a drip edge of sorts , easy to do now , saves problems later ... :thinking:

I see you live North of Meridian ... we have several friends that live around there... NICE area!!! :thumbsup: 8) I’m always visiting up there teaching Art ... :D

Thanks GPW. As far as the drip edge, I figured I would cut my canvas off right at the junction of wooden floor and metal trailer frame, than over lap that with metal flashing hanging just below the frame and coming up onto the canvased foam and inch or so. Sealed behind with silicone... You think that will work? I've not seen how people seal off the joint between wood floor and metal frame. Canvas doesn't seem to glue to metal well..

I was born in meridian. It was the closest town to me growing up.
What sort of art do you teach?
what do you think of this? I painted it for my wife a year or so ago..

Joe, I looked at metal flashing , but thought it might bend and deform if a rock hit it ... I’m looking for Plastic or rubber flashing now .... Easily attachable and it flexes rather than stays bent ... I need some for my FoamStream nose to replace the temporary Drip edge , which actually is going a good job ... simple as it is ... :o
