Where To Buy Batteries

Where are you all buying your deep Cycle batteries? (Not Marine/Deep Cycle) Has anyone found "The Best Deal" / "The Best Place?" I am thinking a single 12V in the 105ah range but I haven't ruled out the dual 6V.

I bought a 65Ah AGM deep cycle battery at the local Interstate store. It lasted 5 years, through two complete discharges. I replaced it with the same, looking forward to 5 more years of service.

I have some LED lighting. In the galley a couple of puck down lights that use about 3W and in the cabin a strip light that uses about 3W also. I run a computer fan 24/7 to keep the air circulating and it takes about 1W. I charge my phone which I think is about 5W, my Kindle 1 or 2 watts, and once in a while the laptop (60W) or the camera battery (6 W).

I can go 4 or 5 days without a charge, running stuff normally. But I also have an 80W solar panel that will fully replace my nightly use with a couple or three hours of sunlight.

That is close to the price my local golf cart wanted....$200. I ended up with 2 6V units to get the 225AH.

Costco: 6v 220 (maybe 225) AH deep cycle golf cart batteries for around $85. The AH rating isn't written on the battery, but ask at the desk and they'll confirm it for you.

IMO this is best for 200+ AH....if you only want 105 AH (and less weight as a result) this won't work.

I hope you can find those prices in your area as I'd definitely go for the Trojan's at those prices. When I was looking in my area, Trojans were nearly twice that price which is why I went with Costco.

Same here Gettin. Originally I was looking at Sam's Club for 6V batteries, then one of my local battery companies had a Dekka made battery for the same price as Sam's. After that I was talking to a friend that rebuilds and sells used golf carts, he's the one that told me about Mike's. He goes that way about two to three times a week and has offered to pick up anything I want and drop it off at my house on the way home. I might just have to take him up on his offer after seeing those prices..

The 6v Powertron Battery is a 210AH battery so it ranks right up there with the Trojan T105. If nothing changes it'll be the batteries I go with.

So 200 amp hours will run you round $900, What makes them 3 to 4 times better? I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know.
