7x14 Cargo Conversion. SOLD

Postby Spotman » Fri Jun 17, 2016 8:12 am

The reason I am selling: Have been traveling "alone" in this nice BIG rig, all the comforts of home. But, my wife doesn't travel with me (too many other things to do). :x Still married over 41 years!
I have had a few Teardrops and standy's in my time and I now miss them for my "alone" travels. It's not that I will leave the Cargo community completely, I want to down size again just for me and will look for a smaller Cargo to use or something "off road".(Mid life crisis). Here is the description:

:D Hey Bob, no worries. I will get to travel further and more with a smaller one. 6x10 or 6x12 might work better or and off road teardrop type.

Hello! I'm Jon. New to the forum.

I must admit: I am tempted by this offer. However, I am still in the very early stages of figuring out what I need from a trailer. My goal is to live and travel in it full-time (or close to it), and since funds are limited, I need to be extra cautious and get everything right the first time!

Can you tell me more about the 3" insulation? I'm dying to know how you achieved this! Did you build out the studs somehow? Most builds I've looked at so far have used 1" or 3/4" foam board to match the width of the side beams - and that just won't cut it IMO, or else my whole travel budget will go towards hookups for air conditioning, lol.

Related: I'm also curious how you tackled the condensation/mold/moisture issue. Did you make use of a vapor barrier? What are the wall panels made of? I am allergic to an assortment of molds, and my girlfriend has asthma, so good air quality is one of our top priorities. The insulation/vapor barrier issue has been my biggest source of concern thus far on CT conversions, whether I attempt one on my own or snag someone else's!

Amazing forum y'all got here. I've been reading and reading!

Thanks in advance for your insight - really appreciate it :)

Jon, sorry for the miss information on the insulation, it is 1" pink foam. The boards total 3/4" on top of that. This was built by someone else, there is no condensation from running the A/C, have used it quite a few times. The white paneling is a white masonite board, very clean looking. I have dropped the price down on Craigslist to $6900. Soon as I figure out how to do it here it will change.
