Not more Glue .... Just paint ... Paint does not stick to glue as well as some people think ... Just proven on the FS when I removed some Gorilla tape and the paint /primer and everything easily peeled off down to .... the Glue ... ( too much of a good thing ..... as long as the canvas fibers are “sized” then no more glue is necessary and more is just expensive too ...

Saves you some bucks and hot job outside ...

You know ( or may not know ) .. There is a way the Craft ladies use glue underneath paint and it cracks and looks antique ... Glue first , then paint ( I’ll look that up) ... Not that we want an antique looking trailer , although it might be interesting as an “accent” on a paint job ...

I thought we had determined that it is best to let the glue/canvas fully dry before putting the paint on, else wise bubbles can form as the moisture from the glue has nowhere to go once the paint skins over.

Bonnie, I hope that hot day and direct sun dried the glue out well for you and that you don't have trouble with blisters.

Interesting thoughts KC ! ... I’d “assume “ ( ) working in the Sun would be the place where blisters showed up immediately, or would dry the first coat adequately after hours of exposure, so re-coat time would be shorter , even less if one does not Add extra glue on top the canvas ! That is , except the highly thinned sizing coat if a thicker canvas is used , one that is not fully saturated with glue in the initial covering ... The idea to encapsulate and protect each and every fiber in the fabric ... That direct solar radition is powerful s*** ... ... and as the fabric shrinks (which it will) , then everything tightens up . Ideally !!!

None at all. I left the whole arrangement sitting on the driveway in full 98f sun for 8 hours. Then I painted and after 2 hours moved the floor panel into the garage. No sags and no bubbles. I would not have painted if the glue had still been damp. Was glad it cooked solid as rain is supposed to show up later this week.

Naa!!! Just rough it up a LITTLE bit with sandpaper,( just break the gloss ) wipe it down with 91% rubbing alcohol (cheap at the drug store) .... Long dried latex paint is quite hard and sands easily ... Basically you want it CLEAN , and dust free for best adhesion ... and you can attach that part with paint ( or the Gripper ) ... Paint sticks to paint ...Gripper sticks to most everything ...
But in the best foamling' tradition , you could test a small sample first !!!

Pls give me the maker, color numbers for the tan color. I think I am going to paint everything tan and then maybe work up different graphics

Looked around , couldn’t even find the paint ...   It was a PPG paint color, I do know that ... Had it mixed locally ... I have to get more for touch ups on the FoamStream ... Hope the little paint shop is still there...

8 hrs in the sun and no blister showing, you are most assuredly good.

Michael/Atomic says that windex makes a great final prep after washing sanding dust off. He's what you call an expert paint and body man.
