Inspired to get a 6X10 CT!

Here is my current iteration of the rear-kitchen arrangement, with a new cantelevered awning. I designed and built this cantilevered cover out of material at hand (poplar lumber and an old tarp) in about two hours for a camping trip to the desert last month. It is secured with bungee cords and is very stable. Stood up to a pretty nice wind storm one evening (35-40 mph winds)... I can install or remove it in about 2 minutes. It weighs about 5 pounds. Provided needed shade, as well as rain protection. it is supported at the rear most part with a couple of HF clamps on the door frame.

Does it store in the kitchen in front of the cooler etc, or does it slide in somewhere else?

Thanks! But, nope, I suppose I could figure that out but... It isn't now. I just toss it under the trailer or inside when I don't need it or want to close the back doors. I left the doors open the whole time I was on this trip however. You may not be able to see it but the rear wall of the kitchen has a window (plexiglas plus screen) into the trailer which really helps ventilation.

Went Camping last weekend in the Stanley area.

Working on using the back end of trailer to have a "shower" space, away from prying eyes. So far just using the doors closed against the awning roof, a couple of bungees and clamps and a section of white plastic tarp. I like the concept so far...

I was driving my camper one day when I got hit in the back of the head. It startled me so because I knew I was in the bus alone (but looked over my shoulder anyway). After two more hits, I figured out it was the cabinet curtain blowing around. I put a length of chain in the curtain hem.

Well, I wish I could feel sorry for ya. But I think I've got you beat on the snow. I did dig her out, but I know there is 3ft on the roof. That really cold stuff came in early this year, and it's just been relentless. Many, many days of -35f wind chills and as soon as it breaks, wham, more snow. The Farmers Almanac said we were going to have a "real winter", and they were right. The scary part is February, it's always brutal but this year they are calling for -40f and below for extended periods. On the bright side, 3-4 more months and we got her licked. Then a week of spring and Bam! nothing but 100f for the next 100 days. Then winter again, of coarse. But for that one week, oh man, the livin' is easy.
I just thank God everyday we don't live in Fargo. Those have got to be the toughest people on earth.

Just some beginning of season updates. Was looking for a new fan for the interior As well as a small reading light for the aft end of the trailer. Found these on Amazon, both USB powered and take virtually no Power to run. The fan puts out a modest breeze, but enough for what I was wanting. The 12 LED lamp light works great, just enough light for reading. Touch on/off.


Now all the lights in the Trailer are LEDs. Also did some sprucing up and painted some unpainted wood on the interior. Going fishing next week in Nevada with my brothers.

Nice. Yep, it's time to get em' on the road. Been very busy since the weather broke but I'm gonna try to get somewhere late next week. Got the garden in this week and lots of "spring" stuff done, so it's break time.

Hope you get out and have some fun! Has the snow receded in Montana yet?

Last fall I told my sister in law who was living in Great Falls that Boise (where I live) rarely has much of a winter... so they moved here! Of course, we had the worst winter in 30 years or so... so sister in law is not too happy with me right now!

I love Idaho. It's just beautiful everywhere you go. And the climate is (usually) milder than Montana, especially the east side of the divide. That cold air from the Northern Territories and Artic just blasts down the eastern slope and it's relentless, it just won't stop for 5-6 months. Great Falls gets the same blessings we do in Cowtown. But still, Fargo always has it worse, always. They have to be some of the toughest people on the planet. Hot, cold, floods, fires, tornados, beetles, bats, you name it. They just get hammered constantly. And yet, they're the nicest folks. A lot like Canadians. (Alberta/Sask.)
I really love that River of No Return/ Salmon area. If I had that kind of money I would consider moving. I've lived all over the western states when I was a younger, single man. Now I won't leave Montana/Idaho/ Wyoming for all the tea in China. It just suits me here.
You still see a patch of snow here and there and we had flurries last week, nothing major, but the rivers are very high and the snow pac is still 150% of normal. The June rise is here now so it could get tricky, but so far so good. I'm pretty sure they are already filling sand bags in Fargo....
