Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

225's 5x10 Cargo Trailer

Postby 225 » Fri May 06, 2016 3:01 pm

I said once I sold my last TD, I wasn't going to build another one. And here I am, building another one.

I've built 2 TD's in the past. And since I moved, and traveling for work, I wanted to build one that I can tow with me and not have to worry about it looking like a real teardrop trailer.

Here are the last 2:

The specs I wanted are:

5x10 V-Nose enclosed trailer.

No side vents
No roof vents
Barn door, no rear ramp
3,500lb 4" "DEXTER" Drop Axle w/ EZ LUBE Grease Fitting
5' Interior Height (low rider height)
15" Biasply (ST20575D15) Tires & Wheels
Exterior L.E.D. lighting package

UPGRADED COLOR
ATP or ANONDIZED SIDES AND REAR
ATP or ANODIZED TRIMMED FRONT AND REAR CORNERS
ALUMINUM MAG WHEELS

STABILZER JACKS (PAIR)

ATP FENDERS

Like this, sort of:

I was about to order the trailer and then decided to wait until riding season was over. I'm going to (hopefully) order it at the end of this month. The biggest problem isn't money, just time. It takes 4-5 weeks for the trailer to be ready and with my work schedule, makes it hard to pick up. I'll call them next week and set something up.

Plus I have all winter to finish it, hopefully in time for CRA next year.

This is what I've been doing all summer:

Sold this bike:

Bought this one:

And I've been riding roads like this:

Sorry for the lack of updates, but the trailer will get built soon.

Ahh, the Blue Rifge Parkway. You picked a good one to ride,

It's a fun road. There's tighter stuff off of it, and the BRP is only 10 minutes from the house, so I'm always on it.

Yes it is. Years ago, I spent many a miles on it at the extreme northern end of it with my old Honda. I miss it.

Yup you picked a good one. I've ridden it from south to north. Next summer if all goes well, we'll be riding it both ways, base camping at Iron Horse Lodge in Robbinsville N.C. on the way up and staying at several state parks on the way back.
