Bonnie, glad to be of service.
The other day when I washed amine off of the door RO sealer coats some of the water seeped underneath and got the rosin paper wet. One door wasn’t so bad so I just stood it up in front of the fan and it dried pretty quickly. The other was pretty well saturated and I was concerned about having the wet in contact with the poly finish on the inner door skin, or the paper adhering when it dried again; so I peeled that part of the rosin paper off.

Curious about what would happen when I eventually peel the first strip of blue tape off of the edge, and whether it will lift a ton of poly after having been on there for so long, I went ahead and peeled some of it back. Since I have had just as much poly fail when using the hair dryer to gently soften the tape’s glue as I have when I didn’t bother, I thought maybe the heat was part of the problem… maybe. Anyway, it took some effort and was hard on the fingernails (due to the epoxy that had butted up to the edge), but none of the poly lifted, so I was happy that I might not have to sand, refinish, or cheat and use trim paint around the perimeter (although I kind of like that idea and may do it anyway). It was nice to see what I have been protecting for so long still in good shape. But I still have a lot of handling and more operations to do, so I pieced some small strips of rosin paper together and tapped it back up.
Here you can see how by holding the original tape back a smidgen the epoxy from the door edge glass wrapped up onto the finished face.

Tonight, despite the 90 deg temp and 50/ct humidity, I put about an hour in skim coating the door glass weave with 410 thickened epoxy.

There will likely be some areas that need touch-up, as I do not have an even hand at this yet. I seem to create as many drag marks with the squeegee as I try to remove others, but toward the end I think I started to develop a technique that will work well enough.
I’ll probably do the edges in a few different operations, or maybe try going straight to some high build primer. Just muddling my way through this.
Bodywork.
