Riverside Retro Jr Teardrop

It's been a while since I've been on here since we sold our 2010 Serro Scotty reproduction last year. We added to the grandkid base and bought us a generic stick & tin bunkhouse. Well, to help suppress the midlife crisis that arrived with my 48th birthday last month, I'm getting a Riverside Retro, Jr teardrop, which will look like the one in this pic.

Its should be ready for us hopefully within the next couple of weeks. These things are mass produced from the Riverside factory up in LaGrange, IN. It has an aluminum frame and checks in about 950 lbs. I've looked at a few the past month or so and while they appear to be built pretty well, we know that once anything hits the road, your results may vary.

This will be our first true teardrop, and I say "true" because our first trailer a while back was a T@B. I'll be snooping around here more often to get some ideas for teardrop camping and to see what kind of gadgets and such you all use at your campsites that might apply only to teardrops. Should be fun! I'll post some more pics when we finally get it. As far as I know it's still in the build process right now.

They make an attractive trailer and a nice lineup of smaller units. They haven't been on the market long enough for me to have heard much about them as it takes a few years to really get solid input. Enjoy!

Congratulations on your new teardrop, Pat! Love the color and style.

Riverside has really cool designs, clean finishes and attractive retro touches. I was particularly interested in their 177SE model with the queen bed oriented along the trailer, instead of across, and with plenty of walk-around-the-bed space (something my wife and I prefer). Upon a closer look at this specific model, I noticed they use OSB for the floor decking and I was very disappointed. While everything else appeared to be of relatively good quality, I was turned off by the use of OSB. Their lineup is not exactly inexpensive and I would expect to see a plywood deck if I was to buy one.

I wish you many exciting adventures in your new teardrop!

Cheers!

Came across this article and video clip of the Riverside Retro, and thought those unfamiliar might enjoy it, it includes a video clip!

I see that they are now making a fifth-wheel and realize that with Little Guy purchasing Serro Scotty that they will have some more competition out there.
