flexible wind deflector between car and trailer

Postby Rferg800 » Sun Jul 31, 2016 6:32 pm

I am looking for an image that was part of someone's post of "interesting trailers ". This TV and trailer had like a tunnel of material stretched between them that was meant to keep the air from dropping down against the front of the trailer.

Interesting. I do not have the link you want, but I have always wondered about such a thing like the big tractor trailers have.

Hmm, I doubt it would help at all, looks more like a parachute and would create more drag than without it. ?????

Surprisingly, there's more drag behind your trailer than there is between your tow vehicle and trailer. The vacuum behind the trailer is a huge detriment to sliding through the air. Take a look at how many of the big rigs are running some type of extendable tail assembly on their trailers now.
The more stuff I take along, the more time I spend taking care of my stuff!
