Don,

Your power/power distribution work looks fantastic! :applause:  :applause:

Like Hank, I'm "electrically-challenged" - :? :DOH2: - but intrigued, so I'm going to revisit your schematic and see if I can match up the hardware with the drawing. With enough time, I can usually figure things out.

BTW, I'm working on a window unit air conditioner hack for my teardrop. I'm ripping out all of the controls and using a residential 24V thermostat, x-frmr, seperate relays/contactors for the fan motor and compressor. I also have a delay relay that I'm going to add to either the fan or compressor to see if that will reduce the start-up power draw. It'll be awhile before I get to rigging this up, but I'll let you know what effect the delay relay has.

Take care,
Tom

Tom, the highlighted parts are what I connected up last evening. The Solar panel and other items except the batteries are in place, they just need connecting together.

Best of luck on your AC. I can't wait to hear how it works out for you. Good on you for taking a step out of your comfort zone to try to make it work!

Not huge, but I did get the GFCI Outlet installed in the Bathroom tonight. Long story, but the wires gave me a fit. I made it work,,, but not real happy with the workmanship.. Glad you cannot see it. :)

It is raining hard here! Wow! Maybe I should have built pontoons on this thing!

Don,
I feel your pain when it comes to the wiring. I used 12/2 romex when I first started my rough wiring because its what I had on hand at the time. Boy am I glad I ran out. Talking about a PITA to work with. If and when I ever build another CTC that's one mistake I won't make again. I'll either use 14/2 or I'll run stranded wire. Romex just doesn't like to bend easily.

Your build is coming along nicely  , keep up the good work.

Hi Martin. Good to hear from you. I am using 14/2 and 15A breakers for the reasons you mentioned. What happened was my hot wire broke with only and inch slack so I could not connect up. I had to use a splice to attach another 2 inches so I could connect. That being the case and the fact that I am using low profile boxes because of the wall thickness, it was hard to get a fit and screw the outlet in the box. A 15 minute job took an hour. Seems to be the case too often. :-)

Wednesday night update:

I did the water plumbing under the bathroom sink tonight. I still need to hook up the drains under there as well. It doesn't look as neat as I would have liked, but with the outside shower on the same lines under the cabinet, I had to cross the hot and cold water lines to make sure hot water was on the left in the sink and outside.

When I am done with the drains and sure there is no leaking, I will build another bottom into the cabinet that can be removed for access. I may also built a false panel to hide the plumbing since I put no valves under the sink. I saw no point in that since I can shut the pump and main valve which takes out the hot and cold and it is close by in the small trailer.

Another step closer.

Same here Don. I bought low profile boxes myself.I had to run a junction box in the upper cabinet when I left three of my runs shorter than I needed, all because I changed my mind of where I wanted to install the PD4045. I seriously believe if I ever do this again I'll just order several rolls of TWNN in 12&14 AWG wire.

I'm using good quality extension cords in 12/3 for 110 volt and 14/2 for DC. Just cut the ends off and to length needed. Bought different colors for each so it can be readily identified. Its probably not the cheapest way to do it but its got a heavy jacket that's abrasion resistant, better than Romex,
and stranded for good flexibility.

I guess that would be expensive! A good quality stranded cord is expensive. I haven't had a problem with the 14/2 Romex for the most part. The wire that broke was nicked by my Rotozip when I was cutting the hole for the box. I can see where 12/2 would be more of an issue. I used 12/2 for my main run at the input to the electrical box... and this is pretty much it.. after that 14/2 on 15A breakers.

There's not that many circuits so it isn't too bad. I ran romex for the AC and decided there had to be something easier to route. The different colors makes it easy to identify which is nice. Besides, I saw it done on here years ago so I just recycled the idea.

I finished hooking up the water supply line and pump this evening. I also got the material in today and hooked up the BW and GW tank valves. I think they turned out well. Also, I placed the Propane tank I have to see how it will fit. This is a horizontal tank from the donor truck camper. I think it goes well here and will simply bolt to the frame. It is somewhat temporary as my longer term plan is to build a generator box to hold this tank and the generator side by side.

I will be working all day Saturday on the build and hope to have some pics of the kitchen framing and cabinet framing. I'll be setting up in my garage to build the faces and doors.

I put two ball valves in. One isolates the City Water line and the other isolates the pump line input.

The tank needs to be cleaned up and a fresh coat of white paint, but i like this tank. It has a Gage already installed on it.

flboy, Howdy;

You keep coming up with neat stuff ... Ya don't see many propane tanks designed
to work in the horizontal position away from forklifts. Where did ya find that one?

It was from a pickup truck slide in camper (the donor camper for alot of my stuff) They make them horizontal mount to slide into a compartment . They have a special insert in the tank. It is a nice tank. Lucky to have it.

Well, I don't have much to show today for Kitchen Cabinets and Counter like I thought I would. I had to fix my sister's car, so I got a late start. I did get the range hood installed and the hood vent installed. No pics of the inside yet... I'll take some of those when I get a little further along. Not much to see at this time. In any case, this was the first step... I did settle on my final design for the kitchen.. so it should go quicker now that I have an idea what I am going to do.

BTW... this is the last hole I will be putting on this side of the trailer. I'll take a picture of the full side tomorrow when the sun is in the right spot. The build is really looking more like an RV than a cargo trailer with all this stuff... I do have two more small holes to cut on the door side at some point. I want to install an exterior 110VAC outlet and I will need to install as small vent for the battery compartment.
