not a biggie: just an inexpensive pole clamp

Hi, i saw these at stake clamps and thought they might be useful for tables, counters, lamps etc. They look reasonably sturdy, are lightweight, and the price is right.

I'm not sure exactly how they work... Look like maybe they could be used as stabilizers?

click on the second picture in the ad listing, and you'll see.

The yellow bracket is screwed to an object, e.g. a table apron or door. Then a pole, e.g. a 1" dowel, is dropped through to the desired distance and then the clamping screw is tightened so that the black pad presses on the dowel.

I will have to check them out I can see a lot of uses for them. Roof rack mounts?, solar panel mounts?, awning mounts? table mounts? use as hinges? Anything that uses a pipe to mount would be a use. COOL!!

When to Menard and looked at the clamps. they are not the most solid clamps. But for mounting thing on a foamie I would definitely use them. A nice big glue down base.

I don't think I'd use them for jackstands, but for propping up a table leaf or lamp, or a lot of other things that may need positioning adjustments, they're ok.
