Sweetly done.

Why not use the hoop as the shower head? A few shark bites t's and a few tips from pressure washer and you have a 360 fully contained multi head low flow shower. A foot valve to operate no hands except for the soap.

Is the issue that water drips when you turn off the water at the shower head and the water heater does not have a water on/off?

Any reason why you can't modify that shower hose and put a ball valve inline to shut the water off right at the shower head or at the HW heater input if you are not concerned about the leakage while you are taking a shower?

Pex makes some relatively small valves for 1/2 lines out of ABS plastic that close off with a half turn. I am using them inline for my water tank drains. You could probably find the bits and pieces to adapt to the hose and make it work at the shower head and directly at the line in.

Tommy B. Howdy;

Glad to see you are getting it figured out. Now then, ... when you said;

Tommy B wrote:need to install water pump on/off switch pronto. have to pull fuse to turn off.
this would make it very easy to release water pressure. of course. so it goes.

were you meaning that the pump was running the whole time??? If so that would indicate a leak
somewhere in the system. Generally the pumps cycle when there is a demand for water and shut
off when the demand stops, the sign of a well schooled pump ... ;)

To release water system pressure you need to open a valve somewhere (or have something like the
vacuum breaker), in there ... like taking your finger off the end of a straw filled liquid. I don't know
how your water heater's plumbing is set-up but if there is a check-valve where the water enters the
heater then the vacuum breaker will only drain the hose when pressure is off (zero demand), so you
would need to open a tap (like in the kitchen), to relieve any pressure in the water system after you
turn the pump off. Most pumps have a check valve at the output side to prevent back-flow. That's how
you get that instantaneous gush of water when you open the tap.

Morning.
Id10t, hmm I do see what you say but water being a precious resource It seems best to be able to utilize the wand for directness. Head, arm pits, Ill stop there!
Hank it only weeps/ever so slightly in the wand head if the pump is on. Just Like you explained. I wired the water pump in directly to power center with out an on/off switch. ( VERY BAD IDEA). Right now I pull the fuse flush the toilet and it drains the water heater and no teeny drops form at the shower head holes. Like it should.

Flyboy. I was leaning that way. I may want to extend the hose a few feet so that it runs/routs along the outer frame of the maxx air fan and hugs the ceiling till it gets to the hoop. Install that on/off switch for the water pump and just leave the wand in the enclosure or place the wand mount just to the left of the curtain for dry storage.
To use unit. Turn on pump, shower, let hang over small bucket till your done in the morning with sink/shower. Turn off pump, flush toilet to drain system and get the HELL out and go riding man!

Will update. Thanks for the input everybody. This site is awesome.

I GOT IT!
Go Pex up to hoop. 90 degree male 1/2 inch swivel at the hoop. Then I have all that hose that could be used out side the door by several feet. Could come in handy for rinsing stuff. Coil up for dry storage behind that little wall.

Yes it wont look so good. 2 90 degree swivels here. One on or near the ceiling. Blue pex in between. Ball valve along the way. On wall more then likely about were the wand is now roughly.
Im  here.

Also the metal tub is iffy. Its bending a bit near the seem on the bottom and also may be tricky to mount a drain. I've been thinking about using something like these and custom cut it to hight. The back side is flat, good. Drain, good. It may be able to stay there as It may just fit right. This may allow higher sides. What do you guys think?  or   :?
Cut just below or just above the second band. contoured cut. Leave all of back. Room for small plastic shelf for soap and shampoo maybe.

Tommy,
You might want to look at a plastic livestock/cattle water tank. If you've got a tractor Supply close by you'll find several different sizes.
here's a link to what I'm talking about http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/produc ... ank-40-gal

Martin

it'll look something like this
when I first started my conversion and thought about putting a shower in I considered one of these instead of a shower pan

Hey Collie. I went right to that site and man that looks like THE deal. BUT.. when I started to read the reviews everyone said they leaked or cracked at the drain or on the bottom. Darn.
Looking at these cause I've seen them up close. Have not seen the other flat sided ones personally. Thick indestructible. Butt ugly. $89.00 less tax. would have to mount brass hardware for spout but I think this plastic is tough enough to take it.

If I go blue I would cut it the same height as the metal tub so I could hide it under the bed when not in use. If those flat sided ones are stout enough I may go for the green one. A little higher sides. Maybe it could stay there with the back intact. curtain would prevent any small shelf on the back so maybe hang something from the hoop to hold soap.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Still open for advice from you or anybody else. :)

Have great day

This looks real good. BIG. Would have to go under bed as too intrusive but I like the look.

I have had my round ones for more than 10 years. They are very tough and have multiple uses. Also has a finished edge.

They look perfect and stout too. where did you get them? I have looked at home depot and the stuff I saw seemed thin on the bottom. I have not seen those types with the rope handle. Bet they don't cost a hundred dollars either. I don't really need a spout as I can easily dump 2-3 gallons after showering. Also no problem if it doesn't fit under the bed. Ill just store outside over the propane tanks, upside down until needed.
Hope I can find them here in Florida.

I SEE. Grainger! We have one here in town. I will go see! or call with idem #

Thanks!

Tommy,
If your looking for the blue barrels or something similar, call your local recycle yard or look on craigslist in your area, I can buy those blue barrels for $10.00 a piece around here. For the drain fitting go on Amazon and look for a 3/4" bulkhead fitting.

If you go on Craigslist, just type in "plastic barrels" in the search window

I got mine on closeout at Attwoods which is a farm store chain like tractor supply. I got mine at the time for 6.00 each. That was 12 or 13 years ago. They are still going strong. Wal Mart carries them as well but you may have to ship to store. 14.99 each I think.
