Make sure you've got a realistic plan for how you're going to use it - it's easy to come up with a design that only works in theory.

For example, it's almost impossible to design a drop floor that can be used from inside a teardrop - you have to climb out both to operate it and to get yourself off the mattress/cushions above it. So as an aid to dressing, it is of little value.

 Well good morning,
I read my dumb idea. Can't have the sides stay outside cause they will flap in the wind. Asleep at the keyboard.

I was thinking something like Mike's lile dinner but that raises and the sides don't interfer with sleeping.

Good point Andrew. ;)

Jack,

We designed it up but never did it. Our idea was the canvas side idea with a weight (chain?) sewn in the bottom edge. The floor would be seperate and could be used or not, in other words it could also be used for ice fishing.

Just not enough room in our design to be practical actually. But I could see it in many trailers, especially ones without underfloor storage and such.
