The treated ply is going to have a nasty green tinge to it , FUGLY

BUT ........ if you use untreated then it will be best if you spend some extra money on a good quality marine finish for it. Then keep the TT in a shed when not in use. For what ever reason , the poly finishes seem to be more prone to weather deterioration than paint.

Gave my interior a coat of polyurethane today

Will do another coat in the weekend if it gets warm enough (love spring)

I am of the opinion that "marine" is a marketing tool . I have been informed by my friend ( who builds caravans for a living ) that the adhesive bonding the plys is the same in both situations . It is still really important to seal the outer skin.

So a good varnish and reapply it annually is the go?
I was pleasantly surprised that 750ml did the inside of mine and the hatch today
I reckon the 2nd coat will use less as the wood will be 'sealed' now

This was just some bog std polyurethane that the neighbour was about to throw out. I got 3L for nothing. It is only for interior use though

I call BS on this. BS 1088 (clicky link) that is.

Yes there is exterior grade plywood that uses water proof glue, but the species and quality standards are not the same.

I used 5mm marine grade spec Okoume for my interior and floor skins, as well as my cabinet shelves, and I couldn't be happier with the quality. Extremely few defects, voids, only a few tiny tiny knots, etc. Sometimes I think the back side was better than the front!

fairly cheap, lots of types available. Not sure how well it will work on the exterior though?

Might see if theres a wood grain wrap i can use
