I am still riding the KTM450EXC I bought in 2006. I don't ride it as much as i use to , but this is the best bike I ever had. I check the valves at the recommended intervals and they don't move. Before that I had Kawasaki KLX300 and YZ250F and both of those were hard on the valves... I was shimming them on a regular basis... replaced the valves in both in ~3,000 "hard" miles.. but I have twice that on my KTM already.. It is one smooth bike and I like that magic button the other two did not have.

Love this bike!

1971 Pursang was awesome in in 1979 when I got it. I wasn't old enough to drink then.

Wow I am humbled as usual. Lots of experienced riders here. Getting old. I Don't know how longer I can ride that beast.

Just had both shoulders done. Torn completely, bone spurs and all that. I still have a ruptured right bicep that looks freaky now. My knees pop out or something if I pivot wrong and I fall to the ground on rare occasion. 54 pushing 55 in February.

I ride only fast enough to stay on top of the sand and try not to expend my energy too fast. Thank god for the ATV.

Could be worse. Might be a walker someday. Great hearing your stories.

Not far behind.. 53 and need shoulder work from taking a few soil samples when riding and a broken collar bone (not serious.. just painful for a while ) I never went to the Dr. for. Knees bad from riding, skiing, hit by a car on my street bike, and just plain old genetics. I just take a few Ibuprofen, drink a Red Bull and go at it. Still have a little ride left in me. I did give up the tracks and jumps... too hard on this old body anymore.. plus those young kids make me feel old and slow. I'd rather stay with my age group and push the limits a bit. I just keep it in the woods now.. I really enjoy the single track runs.

The local spot is wet again Don. Happens every year it seems. But when it does dry up some you will like the 12 mile loop we have. Plenty of everything in small portions. That may only be a weekend or three away. I'm going over my bike good this weekend. Freshen the air filter and change the oil, check all bolts. You know. Maybe check the access in to the property. Let you know.

See ya soon Don.

It looks like me and ol McDave might be the old farts then at 56 and change. Both knees gone, one been replaced, needs it again, second one ain't no hope for. One elbow replaced, both need it. Screws and pins in both ankles. I set off scanners at the airport ;) .
Ya'll done got me lookin at them dual sports 2wheelers, anyone ridden a WR250R?

I have not ridden one myself, but there are a few that ride them in the Dualsport club I am in, and they are very capable bikes. Just need to take all the emissions crap off and uncork them a bit.

Tommy... Recognize this place?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md7TdIw7wT4

My son and I use to take off all the time and do this before he moved away. He's on his DRZ and I am on the KTM.

Looks like a fun place to ride, specially on a ATV.

Howdy fellas;

Y'all be pups. turned 67 in April. Never got into the off-road stuff. Can see where it can be a hoot,
just preferred to stay with the Harley.
Don, nice viedo  , .

Howdy Hank,
I still ride my RoadKing and prolly average 7-10 thousand miles a year. I got into offroad bikes in my early teens and never grew out of them. I couldn't afford a Harley back then but them little 125 & 250cc rice burners were pretty damn cheap even for back then. I think I paid $1100.00 for my first CR125 brand spankin new. Dirt bikes led me into buying my first street bike a KZ750 and the rest is history..

Hey Don. Yes I do recognize that place. Cool vid. You should really like the local single track in comparison. We may have to trim a bit here and there as we do every year after summer but its worth it. Cant wait.

Using up extra stuff now. Door became a table. Tie downs became those things. Still need to do the other side of course. Don't know if I like it. will see how it works.

Looks good there Tommy, way to put the leftovers to use. I'm doing some of the same thing myself.
