I'm brainstorming again. I've been thinking about how nice a drop floor would be and that got my wheels spinning about some sort of modified lounge chair approach with a fold up tv-type tray instead. If the mattress were split in two pieces lengthwiseand sewn into a hinged covering, a person should be able to design something that could convert from a loungchair position with semi-upright back (comfortable for reading/eating) and raised support under knees. Then when you want to go to sleep, you could lower the position to flat, just like you do with a lounge chair. Hmm.

What do you think?

p.s. I hope that owning a teardrop will be as much fun as planning one.
