HALLMARK 6X12 CONVERSION

Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Mcdave, yes it brings a smile to my face to see that there are still people out there willing to help a total stranger. What a great forum we have here.

I will call those two places locally. Irragation/plumming supply. See what shakes out. Might get 5-6 feet scrap for free. They get it in twenty foot sections but some arrives broken I'm told.

If I cant get 5 inch x 5 feet I will do just what Don said. This will also provide that shield I'm looking for as I will place it in front of the tank.

Fun stuff. :?

Ok so only 6 inch PVC is available from a local plumbing supply store.

Pipe is not schedule 40 but a little thinner. Only like 30 bucks for 5 feet. Its the end caps that are pricey. One slip on cap and one adapter with threads and cap. $ 78.00 out the door. May have to wait a week but at least I know where to get the stuff and all my accessories may fit in the tube including the flush king. 6 inches may be to much to hang down from the bottom of the frame. May have to mount tube along side the bottom of the trailer some how. From the front of the fender forward. Much to think about.

They do have schedule 40 6 inch but he didn't think I needed it. I will see.

$84.86 out the door with schedule 40.

That will be fine regardless of where it goes. It is way thick and can handle gravel rocks bouncing off it. Think forest road 66 off of 19. Know what I mean Don?
it may be perfect right here.

That's my plan and I'm sticken to it.

Pics down the road.

oh you had me going there Padilan!

Well you wont have Tommy to make fun of too much longer so better get your digs in fast!

Now if that flush king fits in that tube its Fat city baby. If not then a plastic orange ammo can from west marine. May have to go 6 feet in length though. Ill be back when its all installed. Then just the tires and its DONE!

Thanks.

It's never done! And even if you get to using it you should still share your adventures.

Well the first camping/riding trip with flyboy will be a photo op for sure! That should be a treat for you all. Two newly completed C.Ts in action. dirt bikes, ATV, Bon fire, some beer. Escorts on horseback. $150.00 for the escort or $25.00 for just the horse.

Pictures to follow after the event. 8)

I am of course kidding! They don't let you near the horses. Something about PETA or something.

You know I'm a woman right? And a non drinker too!
But I'm also a freak, converted a cargo into a CTC, and ride . Also had horses when I was young.
So you might just have posted my pic!
I wish

Tommy, You should be able to stow that hose in a 4 inch pipe from Home Depot. All that extra size appears to be for the 90deg fitting.. why not just get rid of that? It really isn't doing much for you. The hose makes a 90deg bend itself. I've never actually used a hose with a 90deg. fitting? I think those are for those folks with class A's that have a whole compartment for the dirty hose, valves and etc.. Just seems like a lot of $ and trouble to accommodate that one fitting.

flboy, Howdy;

Some States, Counties or even local governments have regulations about having a complete
connection with the waste hole in the ground. That would entail having an air tight seal to
keep the odors in the pipe. Yea, you can generally just stuff the hose in the hole and yea, it
will get the job done.
The larger Gray part just screws onto the frosted white section but the elbow still has a difficult
time fittin' in the same size tube as the hose with it's connections on it. It does disconnect from
the hose and that, by itself would fit in a smallish container of it's own. I have the exact same set-up
as shown on the catalog page above (item# 39625). The last one lasted 4 years and this one is due to turn 5 next month.
and I use mine daily for gray water from the galley and weekly from the Black tank and the shower/vanity
tanks.

Some places require you to have a back-flow preventer on your water inlet hose. Go figure ...

Flboy
I posted a pic of the one I have. It's not attached as TommyB's is. The reason I have it is my hose (which was given to me) only mates to the 90's fitting. So I'm thinking it's either a recommended way or required way somewhere.
But I too suggested removing it.

Padilen and Hank, I agree, there must be a reason they make them that way... but I can seal my hose up into the dump inlet with a fitting that connects two hoses, a hose clamp and one of those rubberized chamfered donuts.

Tommy... looks like we are in for some weather. Button things up for a few days. I may take off earlier tomorrow to lower my HAM radio antennas, put up the hurricane shutters, and get some shed anchors to tie my CTC down if things get really bad. It is somewhat protected where it sits in back of my house, but Cat3 winds are to be respected.

For me , I can see you really do want that pivoting elbow. Sets down square, flush and tight. Will not flip out accidently and splatter you or make a mess.

Its a bonus that the schedule 40 6 inch will help to shield the tank. Two birds with one stone.

Every time I go down forest road 66 which is dirt and gravel I can here those rocks popping and pinging off the undercarriage of the trailer, even at 20 miles an hour. I don't doubt for a minute that something could be cracked or broken so hopefully this will help.

Big storm coming so I have to put this off. Must prepare and have little time! Check back later. Don, good luck with the storm.
