Take care!

Good Luck you guy's.
Hey Tommy,
I was gonna ask if you have actually used a dump station yet? Because I have, and that 90 is nice because the "hole" has a brass lid on it with a pedal you step on to open, and if you did it right you don't get st***f all over just putting the hose in there. There is a concrete burm around the area for containment and water to rinse everything. But of coarse before you do anything, put on your nitrile gloves, and DO NOT scratch yer nose, until you have cleaned everything and washed up, even if it really, really itches. And it will. The reason I ask is that you may have way more hose than ya need.
I know I do.... Being Irish and all.... :o
But seriously, you may be able to get rid of some of that and make your storage issue a lot smaller as well. Like a Home Depot bucket w/lid in the bed of the truck. I needed about a third of what I had, and luckily the hose has a connector in the middle, so I haven't contaminated half of it. The rest I have in one of those earth friendly shopping bags that you take with you to the store. All fits fine, flush master 2000 first, hose with the lids/plugs installed so no leaks next, and the 90 on top. I keep the gloves and the blue pellets separate so no contaminates. All is stored in the vented storage area where propane and pump and reefer condenser are located outside of cabin. That storage/access vented door is located above and left of the poop shoot and I keep the rinse hose in there as well, although I haven't needed it yet, the station has one hanging from a boom so it isn't laying in the wet region there, and you can rinse everything off, inside and out, before storing it.. My fresh H20 input door, and shore power inlet, and cable/antenna inlet are to left/front of that door. But I'm tellin ya, the 90 worked well and sealed, and the brass lid over the hole held it in there, like it was designed to do that....know what I mean? ;) ;)
When I pulled up the poop valve was maybe 5-6' from the hole.
So, why don't you use it first and see how it goes, what to leave in, what to leave out. Problem may solve itself....
just sayin'...

McDave

Ps. If you go with the pipe, see if there is a expandable plug available. They have a rubber bellows that expands when you tighten the wing nut. So glue on cap on one end, expandable plug in the other. May be cheaper and easier to remove/install than threaded fittings? And maybe some weep holes at bottom of tube.

Hey Mcdave !

Although I have not used the hose yet I can very much envision what you say. that's the ease of what I wanted it to be. Thank you for the dump station info. That swiveling 90 degree has got to be beneficial.

I feel if I Shorten the hose It may not be long enough at one of the local state parks campsite hook up. Do they have hookups for sewage hoses at individual camp sites in most parks or do you just drive over to the dump station when you need to? This info would help me.

90 degree swivel is a must. If that schedule 40 storage tube protects my black tank from rocks and gravel as I feel it will, Its a must. I need to measure/check though. It must not hang any lower than the lowest point on this set up, be it the bottom of the tank or the bottom of the release valve assembly.

I really think this is a win win situation. Right???

Panic has set in at the stores because of the hurricane. Its going to get wild folks. Shelves are clearing, the water is all gone at the local Publix already. Rude azz people pushing bumping not moving. Here we go. :worship: :worship: Storm please go away!

You think we live in a civilized society. Imagine if there was a real interruption in the food supply for any length of time.

That's crazy man. Round here the only rush might be for the Ammo/liquor store, but you sure wouldn't want anybody to see ya rushing around like you weren't prepared. That would be the talk of town for weeks! You'd probably have the neighbors bringing ya over venison or elk and walleye and some chokecherry wine, "Just to make sure you're OK" before you even made it home. Could be worse, and probably not a lot better I guess. They all mean well, but news travels fast on this grapevine.
OK, So at KOA type parks you can get full RV hookups . 50amp/30amp, water, sewer, cable etc. Usually just see the "Big Guys" in those. About as much as a hotel per night for 1-2 people. Then there are sites with just water and 30amp. Also you can "Dry Camp" , just a space like tent camping. There are almost always dump sites on the way out, so you can travel "Clean". Some State and Nat'l forests have improved sites, but you may have to reserve in advance. If your destination is a "tourist trap" type place like Lake Tahoe, then you can bet services are available for RV'ers. $$$$$$$ :D
Most truck stops/ Travel centers have them as well. Again, RV= $$$$$ :D
How about this, Just purchase a coupling and put in middle of hose. Then carry both new (clean) pieces with you till you get more familiar with the procedure. If you need both halves, well OK. If not, keep 1 new half clean and store it at home if you don't need it. Then maybe you can come up with a bucket type deal that would hold what you know you will need and carry in the truckbed. I have been dumping when I got back to town,(home) cause there wasn't much use, and very little "solid" deposits, mostly shower water. So I know what to expect at the station. Having said all that, it would be optimal to have a straight pipe or tray right there at the valve area to make it just that much more sanitary and easy and Idiot proof. But if funds or time is short, we can make it work anyways. Think about the coupler in the middle, could be a $10.00 solution for now.

PS. This is what I have..https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-Revolu ... 0/23636862

This could be the answer? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-RV-Rev ... nG1HGjChvM

Don't know about that second link but its a 10 ft piece 14.99

Hey Tommy,
I am so sorry you have to go through this. I'm not sure if you are able get this, and the last thing you need is my advice, but I just want to plant this seed. Maybe this is the time to utilize your trailer to max. Grab your photo albums, guns, jewellery, keepsakes, pets, and tools, throw them in the trailer and haul ass out of there. Just my thoughts...
I'm Praying for you, Good Luck.

A quick hello and Update.
We became a special needs facility at the last moment. Very elderly, oxygen, should be in a hospital bed but is on the floor on an air mattress. Needs 24/7 care.

We never lost power. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers they worked. My ten year old generac generator craped out solid right before the storm, even though I have maintained it faithfully. Was running testing the trailer a week ago or so. I panicked knowing what was coming and bought a new big storm responder generator for $800.00. Filled it up. Ran extension cords, installed a window unit A.C, set up a big industrial fan, and boarded up.

And we never lost power. Thank you God. A piece of fence did blow down on the C.T but missed the thin skin by a hair. Marking the skin but no damage to it.
It is a mess here and much to do. Debris every where. Must remove plywood. Father in laws house beach side has a roof leak and no power. The roof leek was right over his hospital bed of course. So here he is on the floor. Needs ambulatory/EMT transport soon.

Don I will check back. If there is any thing I can do let me know.
