Welcome back, Michael. We missed you. Congrats on the successful racing season. And, of course, the Astroliner is looking really good. Nothing less was expected!

Spent some time this weekend getting everything buttoned up on the outside. All the lights are wired and working, fans, windows, hatches all complete. Now she can sit safely outside when necessary without any worry. We also started on the inside. Building in the bed and installing the first piece of freshly lacquered Birch! That's exciting!

We all go thru phases like that. When you set the bar high it takes a lot of effort to get over the top.

As my good friend Karl always says, "You're almost done!".

Yeah... I don't even want to talk about that! When vintage campers were made they used Birch for the interiors because it was dirt cheap. Now, I'm paying an arm and a leg for absolute junk! I took my dad and brother with me to pick up wood. We literally sorted through 50-60 4x8 sheets of birch to get 3.

Did you try baltic birch plywood? I find it is being of good quality, at least in my town. 11CAD for 5x5ft 3mm and 20CAD for 6mm thick.
