Hey (or Hay)! Took my ATV to a guy to have it checked out before winter sets in. Might need it to do some plowing. Mowed half of my yard yesterday and started to not feel so good and never went back out. Today started in the 40s and is only up to 51 right now. Windy today again also. They are forecasting freezing temps tonight. So, I have tomorrow off from the GC but still have to mow lawns starting about 10 or so.

Looking at getting a AR-15 sometime very soon. Would already have one except I am a bit picky about what I want.

I would like a tactical shotgun.. and an AR-15.. as well as something for handguns. [although no idea what?]

I cut more fire wood.. did some staining on my boards.. and then did some work on my parapet wall / roof. I then got stuff ready so I could get some stuff done when Laurie got home. She helped me cut an 8' panel.. and we got that installed. We got a piece of J channel up for the next piece.. and she held the ladder so I could get more more screws up on this end of the roof, and the wood frame at the overhang.

With everything set up.. it didn't take us long… thankfully for it is getting darkish.. and had just started to rain as we were picking up.

It was cloudy overnight… which helped keep the temps above freezing.. but mid afternoon and it's just getting around 40 degrees now. It was mid 30's and with a rain / snow mix this morning. I decided to work inside on the porch. I got one of my two walls boarded up. It seemed a little dryer so I went out to cut some firewood. I don't need this firewood now.. but I would like to get it cut up and undercover. I worked on it this morning.. and again after lunch. I only have 2 maybe 3 trailer loads left to cut. I had not planned to do that much today.. but the way the trailer works.. it's too easy to say "just one more".

My trailer is a pretty efficient set up… but still I am pretty beat. I have time for a little break.. then I need to start getting things ready for when Laurie gets home.. we will have maybe 45 minutes to get a little work done. I want to cut and install another metal sheet for our parapet siding.

We are supposed to have better weather tomorrow, perhaps our only sunny day all week. Laurie is taking the afternoon off so we can get more done.

It is back into the mid-eighties again.

It has been an expensive week. My business insurance, COSTCO membership and car registration all came due this week. $>

I went to COSTCO and stocked up on meats and pantry items. Between that and the tactical shotgun, I think I'm ready for November 9th. :frightened:

Good morning. We are at 38 this morning. We are to start with some sun… but then it is supposed to cloud in, with rain and snow coming tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to have heavy rain also. I think Saturday is supposed to be rainy also. :( We did have an incredible summer.. so I can't complain… and we do sort of need the rain.

I am hoping the sunroom will warm up enough to get some more trim stained. I was hoping to get it installed.. but have just decided to wait… to give it more time to dry. [with that rain coming] Laurie is taking the afternoon off.. we do have 2 more bigger pieces of metal siding to install. Those will take a little time, but I am not sure what else we will work on.

I wasn't sure what to work on.. With so many things to do, it's sometime tough to decide.. or to focus.. I was also kind of cool.. soooo how about going back onto cutting up my firewood. It was 3 full loads. It is nice having it cut up.. of course it still needs to be split and put under cover.

It's a bit of wood.. and I don't have room for it. I have semi tried selling some. I had someone that was going to purchase some this spring.. but he never followed through. I even tried giving some away.. and 2 people didn't follow through on that.

Anyways.. I little break.. and then Laurie will be home shortly.

We got the next 2 sections of wall up. There were a little more work. They each were a more complex fit.. needing numerous cuts. I also didn't have any of the J channel up yet. We did have a request for a bike ride.. at 4:00. We got our work done.. with only enough time left over to comfortably get ready.

We have 40 degrees and a bit of wind and rain.

I opted for some errands today.. returning bottles.. picking up lumber.. ordering more metal. I tried to get fuel.. but the place where I get diesel.. changed their nozzle out and it won't fit into my gas "cans" I got my truck filled up but not my cans.

I went by the shop.. to get a copy of my lay away.. so I can settle up with the boss [maybe tomorrow].

Yesterday started in the 30s and only got to about 50, but today it should hit 70 and tomorrow almost that with a chance of late day showers.

Next Friday with be my last day at the GC and maybe last one at the lawn care too for the season. :D

Been doing laundry and also trim work on the lawn - going to mow again for the last time (I hope) for this year on Monday. Have to go pickup the 4-wheeler from the shop this afternoon sometime. Might run by Lowe's and get some cold patch for the edge of my driveway entrance. It is just flat stones that might shift around this winter when it is plowed.

Yesterday we had more rain and temps in the 40's. We ended up going out and doing some trail work. Because it was the first full day of hunting season [deer] We stayed close by. There generally aren't many hunters out in our area.. but so as not to disturb them we stayed close to our property. While out there we saw Lee driving out. At that point we chose to not use any loud power equipment. We later met up with Lee heading back home. He was just out scouting to see if anyone was out there. He had seen no one.. so we went back to our regular work.

We ended up going back out after lunch for another couple of hours. [We did have a party to get to.]

I have been sleeping fairly well for some time.. but I woke last night for a few hours.

I am hoping it will be a little dryer out today. We have some more metal we can put up… and the rest will depend on the weather. We have snow showing up around us… so it's coming. We need to be getting more ready for it's arrival.

I woke at 3:00 am this morning. :(

We were supposed to have a gorgeous day today.. and it was dark.. grey with some occasional drizzle. So I went out to do some leaf blowing of the trails. Yesterdays weather wasn't all that great either.. it did finally clear late in the day. We ended up going out for a ride with Angela.

I have gotten a one of our two concrete walls insulated. After lunch I hope to get the other side done. It was supposed to be warm and sunny enough to stain.. and it isn't.. It has been warm enough and sunny enough to stain some in the sun room. I don't have a lot of room… so it's a small area.. at a time.. or a few at a time.

Happy Halloween.. :D

And man has this thread slowed down. Days per page not pages per day. Not a backhoe tale to be told I take it
