Wee-Go

Ok so our first camping trip is done and we are more than happy with the way our camper performed. It pulled great behind the jeep. It was very comfortable inside. It looks pretty good even without the graphics on it, coming soon. We got lots of compliments too. One guy with a giant 5th wheel was totally shocked by it. Lol

It was cool,45*, but our little ceramic heater on low kept it very comfortable inside.

Well we got that first trip done. I am happy with how it tows by the jeep. I am really happy with everything about it. The bed is very comfortable. Our ceramic heater kept it nice and comfy inside while the outside temp was low 40's near the lake.

Like anything we do, I have decided it still needs a few personal touches to make it better. At 150# on the tongue weight I decided to add a wheel to the tongue jack. I am thinking also I need a rack I can carry the lawn chairs in on the tongue box top. More to come I am sure, but I am thinking the build is done. Thanks for all the comments and thanks to all the other builders for sharing their builds so those of us that follow get the benefit of your knowledge. I can only hope others are able to glean some benefit from my build as I have from all of you. What a wonderful group of people! I hope to maybe get to meet some of you at a gathering in the future.

Looks great! Just curious, how many watts is your heater?

I think twas it mine, I would opt for a cargo basket on the roof since you've got the side steps and the roof is flat. Plus I think it would look cool(er) behind the Jeep.

LOl that is one of the things I plan for in the future. I have it stored under my back patio right now and don't have enough room above the trailer for the roof rack. I plan to build a storage cover for it later on and it will be high enough to add the roof rack. I plan to carry the spare on the roof rack too. Like you said, I think it will look pretty cool with the Jeep.

The heater is 1500 watts on high. We ran it on low with the thermostat set and it cycled on and off during the night. It is too tall to fit in the pocket so we had to set it on the slide out shelf. We plan to get a slightly smaller one to go in there. It was obvious that we could get by with a smaller heater.

I have been working on my logo. The Boss said it needs to be put on the 45* portion of the roof. Then she said it needs some sort of circle around it, which I told her I had planned to do but hadn't done it yet on the drawing. So I did some work on it and this is what I came up with for it. She is leaning towards the 3 color circle. I kind of like the 2 color, but the 3 color doesn't hurt my eyes.

They both look pretty good, but I think the 3 color circle version is quite a bit more refined looking, much more professional tying in with the rest of the logo.

Great build BBrider. I really like the look of the Away Wee-Go. Very well put together and quality work. It is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your build.

Thanks Peter! It was fun, It was frustrating, it was taxing at times, but it was most of all rewarding. We look forward to using it.

Well the boss and I have had some difference of opinions on graphics. She wanted more. So as is always she is getting her way to some degree. I gave her more graphics, but I didn't use the ones she THOUGHT she wanted. I did something I liked better. She also didn't like the logo after I did the extras on the side. She said that it was enough mountains with the two side graphics, which she liked after I did it on the pc thank goodness. So then I started working on the logo. To get what WE wanted in the logo I had to do away with the "Away" in the name which didn't really bother me since I have taken to calling it just "Wee-Go" anyway.

So here are the graphics as best as I can do on the pc. I didn't have an actual picture of the front since I finished it so I had to use the sketch up drawing for the front Logo. She also said it had to be on the sloped portion of the roof and not the front. I am thinking about making a reduced down version of the logo I can put it on the AC door at the rear as well.

All opinions welcomed.
