I've been a busy dog. Vegas, San Jose, Los Angeles...

It was 85 today. Way above normal, although I don't know what normal is, anymore. :NC

A "major" cold front is forecast to pass through sometime in the next 24 hours. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 62-degrees!!! I'm not sure I can handle that.

The low tomorrow night is supposed to be 40-degrees. I should be able to sleep without running the air-conditioning. :applause:

I am still harvesting poblanos from my garden. These late harvest poblanos are HOT! They are like really big jalepeños. I made some shrimp, rice and cheese stuffed poblanos last week that were scorchers.

I'm going to make some chili rellenos this weekend, and need to make sure to get more of the membranes out of the peppers. That's where the heat is. I like SOME heat, but not so much that I can't taste my food.

Thanks Alan

It's bad when you are happy that you slept until 4:30 am. :o I don't mind getting up at 5:00 at all.. so compared to where I often am.. 4:30 isn't so bad. The hard thing this time of year.. is, it's too dark to do much for a while. [even getting up at 5:00]

We got into the 50's yesterday and are supposed to today. Saturday is supposed to be nice also.. but Sunday is supposed to rain.

Today I will work on the flashing on the other side of the porch. While it isn't the same as what I did on the first side, the figuring out that I had to do, should still help.

Laurie is off for the day at Noon, as is Angela.. and they want to go for a ride.. so a ride we will do. :)

hmm I am thinking I should go pick up materials to put the soffits in on our porch project. We could work on that tomorrow. It would be nice to get that done.

I am also thinking about putting rough pine shiplapped boards on the side walls of the porch. [The front is cedar shingles.] Not that I plan on getting that done. I like to stain the all the edges and such [the back side at the edges] before I put them up, and it's too cold to be staining… or should be very quickly.

I picked up some boards for the soffits. I then did some work here..working on that flashing.. I put a piece up.. and did some caulking.

We then headed out for our ride a little afternoon time. We had a great ride.. and it was gorgeous out. It was mostly sunny and temps where in the upper 50's. I thought we had more time.. for I could have used it a little more efficiently.

We did get back to work after our ride.. and I got another piece of flashing up. We then put the last piece of metal trim up. I sort of would like to do trail work tomorrow.. but it is supposed to be another great day, and I should install that soffit. That might not take us all day.. so maybe we could do some work in the woods after. We do have Sunday.. they say possible showers.. that is easier to tolerate working in the woods.

Good Morning! 34 degrees, but should hit mid 60s and be sunny today. Big change for tomorrow though - high of 47 and windy with gusts up to 50mph.

It was 66 degrees yesterday and I finally sold my Shopsmith. Got a bunch of errand type stuff done yesterday also - mostly phone work. Have not been sleeping well at all this week. been awake since about 345 this morning. We have to go to the grocery store this morning and then I am going to the Field and Stream store about 30 minutes from here to possibly get my AR that I have been wanting. Also, have a new synthetic rope replacement cable for my atv winch coming today and want to get it changed out.

Good morning Kerry.. I am glad you sold your Shop Smith. :D

We are at about 30 degrees this morning.. it's a little frosty out. I keep going back and forth between trail work.. and working on the house.. I am not sure yet. It will probably depend on which Laurie prefers.

Hello Alan..

We still have sun.. but it is supposed to cloud in.. and then rain coming sometime.. We still do need the rain.. so no complaints. I have not checked the temps recently but it is supposed to be getting up around the 50's. So it should be a great afternoon to work on the house.

I tweaked my right wrist pretty good doing trail work.. it was right at the beginning.. I am not sure what happened… Of course I am sure the work I continued to do with it.. didn't help it any. Back in for some advil…

We have had enough recent rains.. to make the top layer of earth.. slick and muddy in places.. but No where near enough to make up for lost ground water. We have very low fire danger.. but wells and such are a concern.

It was mostly in the 50s today. I think we peaked at around 60. We have a low forecast at 34 tonight, so I need to harvest what's left on my pepper plants. Frost will run them.

Sunday is going to be a day of rest, and a little laundry. I'm in Kansas, Houston, and Port Arthur next week, starting in Kansas on Monday. Then out to Los Angeles, up to Tulsa, down to San Antonio and over to Florida after Thanksgiving. So, I plan to be a lazy bum tomorrow.

There is a South-Central Tears christmas teardrop gathering in December. I should be done traveling on business just in time to make that.

Morning!

36 this morning with some left over wintry mix on the ground. High today will be mid 40s and WINDY. Sustained about 20-25 with gusts to 50 and they say the gusts will be very frequent.

Got the shopping done yesterday morning and then went to Field and Stream and purchased this: http://tinyurl.com/gt3wk7g I also added a TruGlo Red Dot sight. I might run out to get a new cleaning kit and some ammo today. Needs a good cleaning and oiling before use.

We have temps in the lower 40's and it is wet.. rainy / showery out there. We got some soffit work done yesterday, but we did not finish it. My wrist was hurting.. or more importantly the work was hurting the wrist… and it just didn't seem to be going well, and I didn't want to do a crappy job.. so I decided to wait.

We will be cooling somewhat next week… but only closer to normal. Hmm I need to be moving the left over metal out of Laurie's car port. So she can put her car in there. I also have some other metal over where I used to park my tractor. I am not sure if that's where I am going to park it this winter or not. I might park it between the new woodshed, and Laurie's carport [covered in a tarp] Anyways.. I still need to clean up that area so I can get at the tractor snowblower to mount that.

Snow tires I will wait till snow seems more of a threat. I need to put some stakes in the ground over where my piles of rock are. My gabion rock is in part of my driveway turn around area. I really don't need to be trying to snowblow that. :o I will have a little time on that. I hope to try to get another gabion built.

CD.. it sounds like business is picking up. :D

Kerry… nice looking weapon.
