Hey Don,
I'm just now getting caught up with your progress. Great news about the oven. I'm glad you didn't have to get a thermostat.
So now there should be only 2 pilot conditions. 1. Idle or off (thermostat off, or thermostat satisfied) 2. Extended to heat safety valve sensor (Calling for heat, or broil) Correct?... ;) ...
So, that's a pretty nice blade switch to have laying around. I have a ton of parts like that, but they are not from this century. Still, good stuff to have when you need it. So that transfer switch cuts out the solar when on shore power? Did the relay actually fail or just noisy?
Diggin' the hose holder, looks good. The tray is what makes it so handy. You can do a much better job of keeping the outside well rinsed. I'm doin that for sure, but I think I try to find 5" post cover 'cause of the fittings on hose.
Gotta run. I'll check ya later.

McDave, correct on the stove. The transfer switch switches between the inverter output and shore or generator input to the trailer. The common legs of the switch go to the lower breakers for the trailer outlets and etc.. The top breaker feeds directly to the the AC and DC Converter and the transfer switch after running through a 20A breaker.

The AC and converter are not intended to run from the inverter. I can run the AC off the inverter by plugging it into another outlet by the AC , but that will be a rare event. Makes no sense to ever run the Converter off the inverter.. unless ypu believe in perpetual energy..

Don,
I now see why you have two breaker boxes. Your CT conversion continues to impress. Take care, Tom

Hader... do not get the 4*4 Square poST ... I wish I had my Camco hose earlier. The hose will fit, but the newer coupling (not the 90deg part) bind in there and will not fit smoothly. This does not work. My older hose does fit but the coupler is not as robust. I really like the Camco hose; however.

I am going to see what I can get for a larger vinyl post.. maybe a 5*5? Back to the drawing board and ~$20 wasted unless I leave it there and put a larger one next to it or use my old hose.. decisions...

In any case.. get a 5"*5" post and you should be good any way you go. Home Depot sells those also and they are only a few dollars more.

I may just leave it like this now.... I took off the black collars which were causing the binding... They really don't do much for the hose other than prevent rotation and the hose unscrewing from the fitting (the collars are reverse threaded from the hose fittings and mesh with it). My old hose didn't have collars either.. so I see no problem leaving them off. I'll just have to watch it to make sure the hoses stay screwed in well to the fittings. I also couldn't use the gutter slide.. but the hose feeds in effortlessly and I just need to line up the last part of the hose that attaches to the tank output, and it fits in snuggly.

I'd still recommend the 5*5 post however... Guaranteed no issues with that.. and if I knew better before I did this (used my old cheap hose as a fit check), I'd have probably went that way... I may have had a hard time fitting it the existing tank hanger however.

Hader... BTW... the hose collapses about ~3' to 1'... so 15' collapses to just less than 5'. 15' of hose is a lot.. I can't imagine too many scenarios where you'd need more than that.

Don, sorry to hear about the square post not working as anticipated for You. Thanks for the info, it will help me design my setup.

I just posted 2 sketches for a Tongue Box setup that will include a compartment for the slinky. Thanks again.

I found the coolest accessory for this gas oven on Amazon for $18. It is a thermometer with timer, temp alarm, and etc. The thermocouple goes inside the oven and you can accurately monitor the temp. I am finding out that the dial knob is about 30 to 70 degrees hotter than labeled depending on the setting . The oven is cycling on and off and maintains a steady temp. You just have to pay attention to the thermometer which is not too far off of the dial since it is 50 degrees between marks.

Now I can cook some Pizzas or whatever in there! The possibilities are endless!

Don,
It looks like you made a lot more progress. You've done a great job. Get it buttoned up so you can take her on her maiden voyage, I know your ready, just like I was.

Martin, the plan is in the books. Tommy and I are going Dec. 8 for three nights. Camping and dirtbike riding in ONF. Two things very high on my list of life's pleasures. I wont have the loft bed done, the awning, or all of the trim work, but it will be ready for camping. All systems are working including the hot water. I am going to install the load balancing hitch and anti sway bar this weekend, then ready for towing.

You will have to join us in Ocala NF sometime early in the new year. We'll have fun.

Hey Don,
My bed frame wasn't done either but I slept fine on that 12" inflatable mattress thrown on the floor. As you could tell from my pics, my awning consisted of my 10 x 10 canopy and it worked just fine.

You betcha I'll be down that way after the first of the year, I'm looking forward to it.

I may have my awning on for my first camping trip. I found a great deal that ships free to my house on Amazon. If I don't like it, I can send back worry free with Amazon. It is a 13' by 8' retractable with black and white stripes.

I am glad I measured again. The 15' would have been too long and the 14ft would be too close. I don't want to cover the window in the back or be all the way forward.

It is suppose to Arrive on 11/30.. Maybe time to get it on the Weekend of 12/3 before the trip on 12/8. We'll see.

Reading about the lack of beds, but everything else installed and functional.
Makes me realize that once again I've done it backwards. Yep bed was the first thing I did, after insulation. I'm weird like that. I'm now starting on a bed for tandempair. It's the first add on to their new trailer.

Padilen, That's funny... you probably have it right... I tend to do things backwards.

Hey Don.
That retractable awning looks very similar to my Dometic 8500. I remember paying $500.00 I think for the whole shebang. That was 7-8 years ago. They have gone up in price though. maybe 8x10 or so. The material for the awning has a pretty short shelf life for me. Maybe 3-4 seasons and its already cracked and brittle on the material that is exposed to the sun when its rolled up. A few air bubbles are just beginning now in the inner portion. I store my trailer with the awning deployed as this seems to prevent inner condensation building up and that's what I think causes it to bubble between the layers of material. Just info.
I love my awning and its worth the money to maintain.
You May need that little roller wheel on the corner of the door to prevent tearing the awning material when you have it in a tilted position.
Cant wait to see it in use!
