Your build as well as all the others who contribute here have been keeping me motivated.


With the addition of the bunk bed I now have two fold down bunks that convert into a full king size + the bunk. This weekend there will be 2 adults, 3 boys (7, Almost 7 and 5) and a LAB sleeping in there for 4 nights. I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

One thing a lot of campers with awnings do is to 'dip' (lower),one corner a wee bit lower
then the other. Helps rain to run off without ponding and possibly damaging the awning.

The center cross member/ leg is it a 3 way or just cuts and welded? Very nice work.

I am not sure what you are referencing, if its my awning it is a 9' x 12' rectangle. The 12' sides consist of 2 6' pieces connected by a "T" in the middle with elbows on the end. The 2 ends and the middle are 9' pieces. I cut the 9' pieces in half and use a coupler to connect them I the middle. The reason I cut them is so I can store them upright in the trailer vise laying them down. I hope this answers your question.

This a late update but we camped in the CTC for 5 days over thanksgiving weekend. 2 adults, 3 kids and a Lab. It even rained 1.5 of the days.

I am happy to report that it went well, no leaks, comfortable and warm. Used a space heater on low and with the installation it was plenty warm. The 120v and 12v systems held up well without tripping any breaker or blowing fuses. Of course we have a to do list of changes and or add ons but who doesn't.

It's great to hear that you are putting the trailer to good use. That kind of family fun seems to be less common than in years past, but really it's priceless to have that kind of time with the kids and family as they grow. The "can do" example you are providing to them will serve them well in the future. Thanks for being a good parent, we need a lot more of that.
Enjoy that trailer and those kids, time goes by real fast.

I am trying my best. I just do what my Dad taught me. He always told me "Can't Never Did Anything". I try to instill that in the kids as well as keep them motivated to be outside as much as possible.

Hello all,
It's been awhile, super busy at work and with the holidays haven't had a chance to work on our CTC.

These did show up in the mail today though. AC and DC voltage monitors. Maybe I will have some time soon to install them.

I am using the same type for monitoring my batteries and solar charge. Make sure to hook the shunts up in the return lines as shown in the directions and select the correct shunt size in setup . Overall they seem to work well.
