I am thinking about skipping this year's Beaver's Bend to do a Good Times van gathering at Lake Texoma the same weekend. I've been to BB many years and this would be the first year to do a van gathering with van people. If my sister's camper I am rebuilding for her is done by then, I'll just give her my reservation. I will let you know if I decide to do that Linda.

Linda please keep me on the roaster for now, with it being 85 degrees in Feb I am thinking that April is probably going to be a bit too warm to be sleeping in the van with no AC!! Now I know why Vanning is more popular on the West coast!

Linda, I'm still having the lightheadedness & dizzy spells. Docs are working overtime to try and solve my problems but no luck yet. Have an ENT specialist who has prescribed a medication but it isn't helping a lot. He's referred me to a neurologist but I haven't seen her yet. Maybe between the two of 'em they can figure it out. Also, the VA has ordered me a set of hearing aids & I have appt to get 'em fitted Mar 1st. VA Audiologist said my hearing may be part of my problem & the hearing aids may help some. I sure hope he's right but I'm doubtful since the ENT Spec thinks that a neurological problem is likely the cause?? Anyway, I'll keep you informed but unless things get considerably better we may not make BB again... Psychologist at the VA says I 'need to get my life back' so I've started walking again at our local park. I can still drive my wife to her appts so I'm able to ignore much of the lightheadedness if I have something to concentrate on but I'm hesitant to try driving a long (relatively) distance when I don't know if I'll experience an episode.

How many spots are left right now, or is it doubling up territory now?

Also, how does the park staff feel about a late arrival (midnightish?)

There are 2 spots left before we double up.
I don't think the park has a problem with late arrivals. I am sure we have had folks roll in late in the past.

I got into this thread a little late; I sent you the fee for three nights (Thurs-Fri-Sat), and got position #35 on the list. Does this mean I' ll be doubling up?, or, since I'll roll in early afternoon Thursday, get a single spot? I don't remember the procedure, since it's been awhile.

"Roaster" Too funny!!! Yeah my TV is my computer monitor so it's hard to see typos sometimes!

As far as sites go, it's every man for himself upon arrival and the double up sites are the sites that are physically able to accommodate two trailers plus vehicles like the pull through sites along the water. So if you get there on Tuesday or Wednesday or something and grab a big pull through site, make sure you are cool with doubling up when Friday arrives but that's all there really is to it.
