What is the correct oriantation for the propane regulator

Which end goes up on the propane regulator? Should the propane regulator protuberance be pointing up, down or sideways?

No problem. By the way I have seen them get water inside and freeze and ruin the regulator which can either make it not open or put out too much gas.
