That looks like a fun reason!

Do you have a good website for some info in case someone may want to get started in something like that? But don't tell the wife I asked! :shhh:
It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.

But it's also why you HAVE to get it started...so you can stay overnight to be ready for Sunday morning's first run

I think we might be able to interest you in Yurpeen Rallycross - four cars at a time around a track that's half on, and half off, a normal race circuit. At the top it's 400-500hp in a four wheel drive Ford Focus and at the bottom it's near-standard 1.3L hatchbacks.

Yes, that No 27 Citroen did finish second!

The delight for us old farts is that in Britain it gave a use for all those dramatic Group B rally cars that got outlawed - think of 400hp in a 4wd Geo Metro....

Andrew

On edit: It would appear that in France, where this shot was taken, they race five at a time!

SCCA.org search for "rallycross"
All you need is the money for the enrty fee... most regions have loaner helmets. ( scca requirement ) You can enter/take any car. There are classes for "bone stock' dailly drivers to insane "open" / " run-what-you-built " cars.

There is also another club, NASA... but they only offer road racing in my region...

Kinda... I need ( want ) a teardrop for the winter, so I can have a place to crash between days of snowboarding.

Rallycrosses are on Sat. That way, you can go to one of these on Sun.

That door-to-door stuff is nuts. ( not for me, even if I did have the budget for it. )
