Fixed the vibration tonight and the bike is noticeably quiter and no buzzing as I go through the 2200-2300 RPM range... The gas tank mounts on three points and has rubber isolators that are not real thick to start with. They appeared dry and shrunk up a bit to me. I cut a 3" strip of that 1/2 thick rubber floor mat material and put that on the rear cross bar the tank bolts down to. No buzzing Noise now... so happy about that and the bike is so smooth now. So flushing the brake lines, replacing the battery, and fixing this vibration seems to have all the kinks out for now.

Excellent! Timing is just about right, too. Daytona can't be far off, and it'll be Mardi Gras before you know it. I can see you cruising Panama Beach at Spring Break, wearin your shades and watchin' for strays.... Or you could go camping and dirt biking with Tommy, either way...
It's all good. Just be safe.

Hey Don,
You ever been the Jazz Festival in NOLA around the third week of April? I haven't been since '95, but that's a bunch of adult fun right there. It's held out at the Fairgrounds but the whole town has stuff going on. Not sure I would ride there though, I've seen it rain for days that time of year.

No I have never been to New Orleans. That is one place I want to stop at for a few days. Drove right by many times... but always in a hurry to get somewhere. My son lives in Dallas...and I go right by New Orleans to get there.. Gonna stop one of these days!

I am hoping to go to Sturgis this year.. so I am secretly hoping that Laconia falls through... It will be one or the other.... I'll be on my Dual Sport ride that first weekend in March and miss Bike Week in Daytona... just up the road 75 miles from home.

Stay warm McDave!!!

Nothing major in terms of work, but I did solve my drawer problem in the kitchen. My wife and I were up town for dinner and there was this thrift shop across the street. She drug me there against my will and I'm glad she did. I found a set of drawers that fit perfectly in the space for $12.00. Can't beat that. These are the perfect width so I can access things I store in the V area to the right. Bottom line, I now have 6 shallow drawers for various kitchen items and I needed that. The drawers lift right out if I need to get to the plumbing under the sink , but fit snugly underneath it. I knew I wanted these type of plastic drawers (instead of building fixed drawers), but could not find any the right size or depth... until today.  They go well with the other plastic bins I am using under the counter top. I am still looking for the perfect drawers for the left side which is more narrow. I may go with deeper drawers to hold canned goods and etc..

Image

These are the bins I already had under the microwave which I got from Harbor Freight, but they do not pull out.

Image

Charging outlets for the bed area I added earlier.

Image

I used some cheap plastic bins to make a place to hold my cell phone and etc. at night for charging and etc.. Also can see the bed light I installed a while back and the reflectix I cut for the windows which I still need to find some curtains for.

The bins will have to removed if I ever decide to go back and make the bed lift work. For now I like everything as it is with the bed static, so I can keep them there.

Hey Don,

Just wanted to say this thread in particular has been the catalyst for me to pull the trigger on my own build, and thank you so much for such an easy to read and comprehensive thread about your build. You do amazing work and I stumbled across this thread via ThumperTalk and I'm glad I did! You've inspired me to build my dream moto hauler rig!

I am due to pick up my Lark 8' x 18' this week.... I saw you had some leak issues on the roof to wall seam and some screws on the side I think? I guess this is to be expected tho, I can't afford a new Haulmark or the likes, so at least you opened my eyes as to what to expect. As long as the bones are solid, I'm fine with some QC issues at this price level. Hey, my last 7 x 18 Haulmark leaked eventually as well after time.

On to my question: I have read basically every CTC build thread ( Love em all, talented folks here ) and the one thing I can't seem to figure out is why Dicor brand sealant is so much more expensive than other seemingly similar roof sealants.... but the verdict appears to be in that this is THE sealant to use. Why? I wanted to just go ahead and eliminate any chance of leaks from the start and this was my very first project on the build list... Thanks again to all the members for their threads and ideas, I have learned so much and it seems like a great group of folks here. Thanks in advance, you all rock!

Thanks Sean and I am glad I could help and encourage others. I have enjoyed this process and I always seem to go to the internet for help, so I wanted to contribute some.

I don't think I can answer the Dicor question. I used it because RVer's swear by it and I wanted to make sure the job was done right. I thought about trying some other stuff also, but at the end of the day, I didn't want to have to worry about leaks.

I do like the Dicor however. It does level well and it retains the flexability so I do not have to worry about cracking.

Looking forward to your build thread. If I can help, let me know.

Are you picking up your Lark in Douglas, Georgia at the factory?

Sean, the reason most RVers rave about the Dicor sealants is it is compatible with the rubber membrane coating
of their roofs. Still, it's an excellent sealant and will do an outstanding job. It's always good to do some research to ensure
that what you choose is compatible with what you want to use it on/for. The interweb sure does help in that respect.

Looking forward to seeing what you decied to do with your CT.

Thanks guys,

Don, yes im picking up myntrailer in Douglas, im in Jacksonville so it's just a short hop up there.

I'll start a thread soon, my build will be slow As funds allow, but would love everyones input along the way. Sounds like Dicor is the way to go, I'm definitely a researcher and only asked about it in the first place because I just couldnt come up with much solid info one way or the other. Thanks for the replies and look forward to getting started... But dang you all have set the bar High!!!

Thank ya!

Wow.. looks like you have some work to do on the bike Padilen. What all are you doing to it? I can see it is apart.

Here's a few pics of my CTC in action this weekend. I had 4 nights out camping in Ocala NF with Tommy. We had a great time riding. I took a few soil samples and bruised up my left knee good. Will heal fine I am sure. The CTC performed great. No problems.. except I need a larger DC circuit breaker on my Inverter. It gets warm and pops when I have the microwave on for more than two minutes. It is running near capacity and warms up... probably need some margin.

Oh yes, almost forgot the food.

Good to hear ya'll had a good time Don, I wish I could have been there. The wife's birthday weekend and both of the grandbabbies coming to visit helped keep me in town.

I like those TW200s. My friend had one and the wide tires make it easier to handle in sandy terrain. It was a fun wheely bike too. It just took a pop to the clutch to get the front wheel off the ground, but the balance point was good. . :-)

As I recall, I took my MSF riders course on a TW200. That is just what they had there. Sure made it easier for the figure 8.

Yes many motorcycle safety course use them. Low seat hight and stable bike. Way easier to test on than a heavy street bike or tall center of gravity adventure bike.
I had a Suzuki RV125 - well was my dads. Rode it sort of in between my TS90 and DT250. I actually didn't like the RV because it was "easy" to ride. When I decided to get rid of my Intruder I wanted a BW 350. But those are pricey. And dirt only. I didn't want to mess around so I got a TW. I wanted a 4 stroke now I'm back wishing for a 2. Beta X-trainer
