have you considered rising the pod enough to have a set of steps slide between the pod & truck bed?

Yeah, I have an idea for the steps: I can get a hold of an old set of industrial steps, they need some work, but the price is right. FREE.

So the main frame is complete and I've started on the floor.

More progress, over 200 screws, 3 drill bits, 2 tubes of glue, another 12 feet of tubing and one side is on. Question: small window at the front or not? It's just sprayed on for now.

I vote yes to the 2nd window. BTW will you be moving it on and off the truck bed regularly? if so how?

Regularly? maybe 5 or 6 times a year. I am working on a lifting system using 4 farm jacks which I can lift it with and then back the truck under it. It is getting a bit heavy.

You can pick up truck camper jack sets pretty cheap on Craigslist.

So I took 2 steps forwards and 1 back. I set up my lifting idea, lift a little, nope, not very stable. No problem, add some supports and it's nice and solid, I'm a happy camper....or not. Lifting, no issue at all stable, not to hard to align to the truck bed. Going down...not good at all. using 4 of this type of jack is a problem. When they have no or a very light load on the pins the pins can be pushed out by the force on the wedge slider's spring. Long story short (to late) the camper fell to one side from about 2 feet. No real damage but could have been very bad. So, 1st step forward: lifting is good. 2nd : both sides are done.
