The Tin Can House.

We picked up this teardrop trailer from the TnTTT forum (Thanks, NotNed) and drove out to Kettleman City, CA to get it. What a cool trailer! The entire thing is homemade on a 1.5" steel box frame - stout enough for the type of trails I'll pull it down. There's a battery up front with solar power (40 watt folding panel) and a shore power charger/input.

The previous owner refinished the interior in 2012 using cedar liner planks. He also insulated between the walls. The trailer is Lucy the Adventure Dawg approved.

It's neat and light. The rear galley will need to be redone since I want to make it fit my fridge on a slide and swap the basket drawers for solid drawers. Frankie demands high quality dog treat storage. I do like the aluminum countertop and mason jar storage.

It has a single interior LED light, fantastic fan, porch light and galley light. It's basic and should be able to do everything we need, which is mainly making setting up at camp a breeze, a cozy bed/shelter and get stuff out of the Jeep to give the dogs space (or bring friends with us). I'll likely put together another modular shower system to hang off the side, but other than that, it'll be a very slow build.

Coming up...rubberized white roof seal and airstream style polishing....

Got the first few coats of new rubber roofing applied. A few more coats before this weekend's second trip and it'll be sealed up. Then it'll be time to move on to reworking the galley.

Went camping at some hot springs over the weekend. The polish and white roof looks good, although it's all dusty now! I can't decide if I'll wash it before dragging it down to the Baja 1000 offroad race in a week or not.

Cool! That polish job looks great. I can't imagine how much work that was. Am interested to see your rubber roof.

It's just Rubberseal. I bought it on Amazon, but you can see it create the rubberized coating once dry. It sealed up a bunch of little holes and it looked great. It goes on with a regular 3/8" nap roller. Note: 32oz was only enough to put two coats on the roof. I had to order more. If anyone was going to use this product, I'd buy a gallon to start so you can get thick coats.

Off she goes to the welder. She's getting a tongue extension, lock n roll hitch and then I'll add my moto rack which also doubles as a cargo/firewood rack.

Here's the new 3-D Lock n Roll hitch. Also extended the tongue so that I can open my swing out tire carrier while still attached now.
