I'm likin' the switch/usb plate. I'm a big fan of wood. Wood is good. But I'm LOVIN' the HF step. Gotta have one. I've been using a Wallyworld plastic job, it's tacky and you know its just a matter of time till it busts my arse. Plus, that thing is cool. 8)

I ordered one already! Had 20% off so that equaled the shipping. Cost me to much to drive to T.C., and winter weather - I'll pay shipping.

T.C. = Traverse City? I saw the 20% coupon, but in the front (pg.17) of the Feb. HF there is a coupon for 19.99.
If reg. price is 29.99 minus 20% = 24.00? Hey, 4 bucks is $4.00. just sayin'

Yes T.Cis Traverse City. And G.R. Is Grand Rapids. B.R. Is Big Rapids. UP is the Upper Peninsula and the LP is the Lower Peninsula. Pure Michigan

Hey Tommy,
Couple questions on the step. I read that it does not fold up as sexy as it should. True?
Also, is the platform height 13 5/16" when set up? Not a deal breaker, but I think I would have to cut those legs down to achieve approx. 9-9.5" deck height. Trying to split the difference from ground to trailer floor, approx. 18". on level ground.
Shouldn't be too complex, and may help with the fold up condition? But for the shop and house 13" would work well. ;)

McDave

@ Padilen,
You might want to try coupon code # 11645409. Maybe?

Hey Mcdave,
Well as far a folding it up, I figured I would just leave it in the set up mode. Going to just set it inside when not in use.

Now as far a the height is concerned, I did think to myself that its almost as high as the trailer is. But....it is still easier to step up on AND last time I camped the door side of the trailer was really high as I had to pull up on wood blocks to level the trailer. that trip really hurt my back climbing in and out.

Cutting it down some would be doable I suppose but I will/would give it a few trips first and see what you think.

Also know matter how hard I try not to, I still hit my head at least once a camping trip on the side door and on the ramp door. This may help on the side entry head bang. You know the one where you fall to your knees and get that taste in your mouth, like blood? However it may increase the frequency of that. I say that because you will no longer be stepping up or down immediately as you enter and exit. Instead you seem to move full forward gate as you step in or out now. This is no small matter believe me!

Anybody else ever hit there head getting in or out of there C.T?

Tommy, that is a real good point about parking on a slant and then leveling with blocks on the door side. I have already experienced that at Delancey like you. And if you are on level ground and assuming it is dirt, you can adjust the height by digging it down a few inches. I wouldn't cut up the legs in this case.

Well, why don't you just dig a hole for the tire and level the trailer? One hole is about the same as another...but I digress..
A true MacGuyver would make all four legs independently retractable and adjustable....just sayin'
And, Oh hell yes, the top of Mcdave's noodle has been stoved in so hard I bit my tongue and jammed my neck, then fell out backwards and biffed my knee on the floor sill. And I spilled my whiskey! Course the first thing I did was to look around to see if anyone was laughing, then I blacked out. Fashioned a piece of pipe insulation to fit over the door frame after that. But that is why I want to split the rise and run, just like a real carpenter. Plus, you know I can't leave well enough alone...
It's like I've always said, "Safety Third".... ;)
Thanks for the info, I think I'll get a couple, just cuz'

Pipe insulation on the door frame would work. I used some strips cut from a closed cell foam hiking pad. I have tested it, and it works well! :D

Tommy B. Howdy;

I heard the expression "I'll give ya $20.00 worth of nickle pump knots" used in an un-friendly
barroom situation when I was stationed in the Jacksonville, Fl. area. Even seen a few attempts
but I've never seen a self-inflicted set so well rounded into a single unit. Bravo!
 , !

PS. Yea, I thumped my melon coming outa mine more then once, but my hat never came off
nor did I have to readjust the fit afterwords.

I've not done that on the door yet. It seems high enough and I am 6'. It does have an RV style door however. I do remember about knocking myself out on my previous CTC on the ramp door header once. I think I still have a dent on the top of my head from that one.

Maybe that is why none of us CTC folks are quite right or "a few fries short of a happy meal" as some would say. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH][SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH][SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

I didn't actually do it on my CTC. I did it at work with a hand truck. Had to really work to do that.
I'm short and my CTC is a 7' high and I have tall doors. But if I don't put my bed all the way up I may succeed in knocking myself out yet.
