So while I sit around and feel sorry for my self. ( I cant sit still, I'm pretty sure I have AADD ). :D

So I need to modify this set up for obvious reasons. Pics are worth a 1k words.

Also, see the brass valve there. I just need to figure out where It needs to go. Lots of variables.

I may cut this down to just above the fat rib to maximize the curtain/shower space. Maybe it will fit under the bed then. I will measure of course.

The brass valve. There is an opening where the old suicide cord came in. You can see it in the second picture. I could let it free flow to the ground like the sink. I don't want to drill a hole anywhere in the floor and the side door will remain closed while I shower.

A 3/4 spade bit will set that brass valve tight. I was told. :NC

Cooler should arrive any time now.

HALLMARK 6X12 CONVERSION

Postby Padilen » Fri Feb 24, 2017 12:11 pm

I can't see the hole! But they make battery operated pumps you could use a pump and just pump into the sink no extra drains or holes needed. The pump could be like a Kerosene pump or a sprayer. Any type that is "water" proof.

Hey Padilen,
Yes, like the bilge pump in my boat.
But more wires and pumps :?

May be best to free flow some how. Either into a 5 gallon bucket after the shower or through the floor during.

Thanks for the idea.

The tub now fits under the bed.

Just put a valve at floor level in the blue tub and connect to a hose. Let gravity do the work. You just need a hole somewhere to let it drain out. Nice idea to cut the tub down.

That's why I said battery - no wires- well not on device but if you have a charger then yes wiring.. Glad it fits under bed. I still need to check if my coolers still do

Its arrived its arrived!

That's an 18 pack minus one in the freezer section. The main refridge section to the right of that is even bigger. The far right section is smaller. I better read the instructions before those beers freeze and bust but from what I read its very versatile. All freezer or all fridge or both.

I would say it is perfect for 3-5 days or more if you did not need to cool 12 oz cans and I may not mind having to have ice for drinks as I can transfer them to the cooler a few at a time. But we shall see.

The fridge looks great Tommy! Why can't you take beer warm and feed it into the fridge as you take cold out? It will cool them quickly in any case. You don't need to take another cooler with you... just buy beer warm and then chill it as you need it. You have a fridge now man! Just sayin. :D :D

That's smaller than I had thought you were getting. Actually a nice size, for our size CTC's.

Saaaa weeet!
That should be plenty of capacity. Having it that handy to the "Man Door" could work out well for you. Just lean in there and grab what you need, it should be about waist high if you are standing on the ground. Perfect.
Shoot me that model# so I can get knowed up on the features. Sounds like they really put the Funk in functional...just sayin'.. I can see that thing coming in handy for non-camping situations as well. It's about 400 mile round trip for us to go to a Costco or Sam's Club, but you can get some stuff not available locally. Salmon and Seafood, fresh fruits/veg. etc. and that would work well for transporting and we wouldn't have to rush home. Also, as a back up reefer or out by the pool. Or, you never know when you might need to transport human organs for donation.. I'm an organ donor. In fact, I'm hoping to donate one to the little lady, soon! Well, donate might be overstating a bit, but I'd sure let her use it for a while.... ;)
So, couple questions for ya.
How much was the reefer in your home kitchen?
Could you draw me a sketch of the wife's face when you told her that you NEEDED a 700.00 cooler?
Now, I've had my share of "Cold Barley Soup", but what the hell is Don talking about with this "Warm Beer"? You can't have warm beer, ever. I swear sometimes, that boy just don't take his drinking serious. I'll bet he waits till noon to have a cocktail. We both know you can't be drunk all day, if you don't start in the morning......Kids, I swear.
How about a little celebration song? OK, goes like this..
Gimme that T for Texas, Gimme that T for Tennessee, Gimme that T for Tommy, brothers got a cooler that can freeze...
You know the words, join right in.

Tommy, I was thinking about your shower setup some. Now that you have cut the blue container down to be smaller, why don't you just put a small sink drain (the kind for a bathroom vanity sink) in the middle of the bottom and hook up no plumbing. It will stick down about an inch (cut it to size). Then cut a hole (slightly larger than drain) in the floor where you place the shower and make a nice cap for the hole. If you use a keyhole saw with your drill, you will retain the piece and glue a small 1/8 piece of luan over it that is slightly larger in diameter. When you put the shower in place, just remove the cap, and you have a self draining shower. The blue container in small enough now that the little bit of the drain sticking out could be on top if you just transport it upside down. In any case, that hose/faucet thing is still going to leave water in your tub since the inlet will not be at ground level. Just a thought.

BTW... you are finishing the CTC off nice with all the amenities! Fridge, hot shower, toilet, self retracting bed, sink, stove, small generator to recharge house battery, ..... that is nice! Looks great!

Don,  Let me digest that.

I was set on a bilge/bait well pump exterior of the tub and utilize pex tubbing . Never compromising the tub with a hole. But....

I think I really like your idea and if I can down the road plug into a portable 12 gallon gray tank, well that could be good. I can see that.

You are so right in what you said about the brass valve on the side.

This is a fresh pic and note the old suicide cord hole open. I thought I might use it but you really should drain straight down. BUT, I don't want a puddle near the front door.  Some pvc like I used for the sink. Run it over to left side??

Don AWESOME advice. I believe I will go that way!

Pics to follow brother. Drain on the bottom. Yup That's it. :applause:  To ya Don.

woe a minute.

I'm still thinking about this route but of course not so direct. Pump of some sort on the toilet side of the wall. Some pex fittings, 90 degree elbows around the toilet.

dress up all that blue pex too.

bilge pump, sump pump, OD pump, no pump :?

Don Just an option before I drill holes in floor and tub, What do you think?

I will brose for pumps now.

Chime in now anybody.

Go with the pump ! Because- 1- barrel with a drain may leak. 2-the drain will be higher than barrel and leave water in bottom. 3- no COOL factor like a pump system.

Or build a bottom box or pedestal which will take the drain water and run it out where ever you want to run a flexible drain tube. Hope that makes sense?
