Thank you guys. I really have to give credit to my brother Matt for figuring out the drawer. Since the wall is angled, (as KC said, no rectilinear lines in this build!) the angle made the drawer kinda tricky! If it were to come out on the angle, it would hit the bed. So he came up with an angled drawer that pulls out straight. Genius.

I'm glad to hear your health is progressing!

I just caught up on my reading and I just saw that you have been sick. Brother, fellow camper/builder, I wish you the very best.
I can somewhat relate to your prediciament, but of course not to your level. I too have been sick for the past 5 months. The docs have just started to figure out what is wrong and are now trying fixes. For me, it will be a life changing future. Thus I really look forward to my future trips in the trailer and look forward to hearing about yours as soon as you can.

So Tom... about the Birch and the Flake. When I first told people I was going to do old school metal flake on the walls I was met with a lot of raised eyebrows and upturned noses. I guess no one really had my vision . But I kept picturing that Amber Birch filling up the cabin and I knew at some point the Flake would just become accent rather than a focal point. And now it's starting to come true. Those around me are now on board with my vision and Carrie mentioned today how beautiful it has become. That meant a lot because I know she was one that definitely did not quite understand it! LOL!

I've gotten so many comments from others here going through struggles of their own. And to you, I want you to know you're in my prayers as we fight to win the battle for our lives! We know we're not alone!

Thank you all. People here are amazing. And I really appreciate that you get me. It's funny how my closest friends and even family just don't understand the whole camper building thing. People look at me like I'm crazy sometimes. Even people that have seen it just walk around wide-eyed and amazed that I'm so crazy to even take on such a project. My brother commented the other day that unless you are building a camper you have no idea what it takes to actually build a camper. So thank you for understanding how important this is to me, even in the midst of illness. I appreciate you each and all.

Well, one last day of feeling good before I go back to the hospital tomorrow for three days of chemo. It's crazy... what used to take me minutes takes all day and includes naps. Oh well... just thankful and blessed that I feel good today and get to have Camper Time!

I couldn't find counter tops that I liked, so I made the decision to custom build something one off. The grey is primer in the picture, and eventually I'll do some paint work and finish it off with some crystal clear bar top.

Here's the layout for the sink and cooktop:



And here are the appliances being test fit:





Time for the robot to recharge. I'll be down for awhile so until next time... Happy Building!
