Thanks, it has a fairly lightweight aluminum frame, I'm hoping that the filon adheres nicely to the frame and plywood.

Contact cement has been spread on the hatch frame, plywood, and filon skin. It used exactly one quart of contact cement.

Filon skin cemented down and clamped to the hatch.

After 72 hours, I'll remove the clamps, trim the filon even with the frame, and caulk the plywood edges to the frame. Then I'll reattach the hardware and new trim, and reinstall.

Had a little delay, due to weather, illness, and my wife having surgery, but did a little more on it today.

Trimmed the filon flush with the metal frame on the aft hatch. I had to use a non-bearinged laminate trim bit, as the ones with bearings had too big of a gap between the cutting surface and the bearing. I used my cheap speed saw instead of my nice beg router and it worked great. :D

Started to install the trim but it appears to be too small. Looks like I will order the next size up. :(

I also caulked around the exposed edges of the plywood inset with Dicor non-sagging Lap Sealant. Now I need to find the screws and re-install the hardware.

The rebuilt galley hatch has finally been instaled!
I still have to install the trim around the edge, and the gasket to waterproof it.

The color match is actually pretty good. Left is old and right is new. That happens when you cover it with a wrap for 13 years.
