If the cabin is on the grid or has a gennie, and you want 12V power output, yes.

Can't believe Radio Shack still has a heartbeat!

Samlex or Mean Well would be a better bet for quality and longevity.

Sometimes get bargains on eBay, but 19A is higher than usual at the low end.

Don't try to charge a big battery with it unless you confirm overload protection built in.

Don't forget about Ham radio suppliers, I got a 30A, 13.6VDC (adjustable) with V/A meter for under $90. http://hamstation.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=176_256&products_id=3828 It is small and comes with a 1 yr anything goes warranty.

Just don't try to use one of those to charge a battery, they will kill it very quickly.

Actually depends. A quality unit with overcurrent protection, or a smaller/less depleted/low CAR bank that never asks for 30+A, should be NP.

Usually a regulated 12 VDC power supply puts out 12.0 VDC. A lead acid battery needs more than 13.2 to charge, usually 13.4 - 13.6 in normal charge mode.

I was talking about that specific unit.

Many even non-adjustable are standardized on 13.8V.

A BM like Victron 702 can be set to flip a relay when the bank is full.
