You should only have two heavy cables going to the batteries from the power converter/charger. Then all your runs will go to the converter/charger. So aside from the expense of long cables I would put the batteries where you want them.

Got some work done this weekend. Striped her down to the bone, cut out the stud for the window on the curb side, put in some horizontal bracing above and below the window using pop rivets. Did not manage to get any pictures of the bacing though. Then after much aggravation finally got the window in today. Hopefully the second window will go a little smoother. I also Insulated most of the right side.

Congrats on the nice trailer and good progress!

Regarding the installation of the second window, if what happened to me on my teardrop build holds true, the second time I did something took about one-third of the time that it took to do the first one.

Second window is in. This time I did manage to take a picture of the bracing of the window before I put it all back together.

I have a camping trip planned for this weekend so I've spent the last few days getting the trailer to be as functional as possible for it's maiden voyage.

Ceiling going up.



Ceiling is in, lights are installed batteries are in but due to a wiring snafu, no lights just yet. Cabinets in place, counter top cut and mounted to the cabinets, sink is installed yet non-functional right now.





And finally we have lights!!! Also have the Maxxair fan installed and powered!



Toolbox is partially in place, still needs to be anchored but it was time to quit for the night.



Tomorrow's to do list:
Anchor down the toolbox, install the D-rings and start loading her up for the weekend.

Your windows are located in the same places as in my 7x16 dual axle trailer. When I ordered my trailer with factory windows installed, I had not yet discovered this tntt forum. Consequently, I would have done a lot of things differently had I known about this forum. Looks like I got lucky with my window placements. I still have not figured out how I will layout my interior. However, now that I see what you are doing, I will be watching your build closely.

It appears that we have a common philosophy (i.e., off grid, with no AC ... yet, , no indoor toilet or shower setup). I appreciate the time you take to explain your thought process.

I took the trailer on it's first journey last weekend, hauled my ATV to an off road park about 2.5 hours from my house to meet up with my buds, set up camp and had a weekend full of riding. The trailer pulled great loaded up although the water tank is not in yet. Friday a storm came through and we were stuck in the trailer for a few hours, three of us in the trailer and plenty of room. Cracked the windows open and turned on the Maxxair fan, it was quite comfortable. Spent 3 days there and the batteries only used about 20% of their charge. The only problem was there seemed to be some water leaking in from the window on the curb side. My windows have a neoprene seal around them that compresses when you tighten the screws, so I did not put any Butyl putty tape around them. Now I'm thinking I probably should have. I plan to pop the windows out while I put the carpet on the walls in order to easily cut the window openings in the carpet so I think i'll put some Butyl tape around both windows.

good deal ... hope you get the windows sealed. My windows have a bulb type seal with no butyl tape.

I'd use the butyl tape since you are taking it out anyhow. Can't hurt if done right. Are you sure that is where the water is coming from?

I didn't get as much done as i wanted this past weekend but i did get the carpet up on one wall and started to build the front storage area in the V nose.
