Finally, the change to underslung axle and raising fenders on the frame. Drilling the spindle for the stud on the spring was easy, as was inverting spring bolt. Moving it rearward was harder, because of cutting for carriage head bolts - which was a combination of sabre saw and file.

I (had a friend with a man cave machine shop) modify the fender brackets so the tab for the bolt to frame was down, not up, and of course drilled frame for relocated fender.
