Thanks Padilen and Hank.
Hank, the solar array worked great boon docking. The next day about 10am when the sun was higher in the sky, we pulled off the highway for gas and I checked on the charge. I was pulling 31A and the batteries were almost recovered from the previous night. Where I am camping, I have power and water so I have the converter on. Too much shade in any case. I'd be supplementing with the gen if there wasn't power.
Speaking of power, maybe doesn't mean much to those not in the hobby, but I was able to talk to my friends in Palm Bay Florida on 80m (3.850 MHZ) SSB running with only 15W and a 84' end fed wire antenna tossed up in the trees this evening. That always amazes me. Six hundred or so miles away talking back to hometown on a small radio hooked up to 12vdc in the woods. It works! The pic is the radio and the purple lighting is the awning LEDs. :-)
