Your trailer has got it "all going on"... about the only thing I don't see is the "Low Rider Kit w/ the Hip Hop Bouncing" thingie going on
I really like the solar add-on that you did with the PVC stand... I might eventually give it a try down the road. Cool!

I still need to buy another piece and cut 3' out of it and connect it to this 10' piece, but this 10' piece of 5" PVC gutter only costs $4.36 @ Home Depot. It literally just snaps on the awning roll to protect it during storage from the daily uV's that deteriorate it. Very simple.

I don't recall who was the first person on TNTTT to suggest this, but whomever you are, thanks. Very useful tip!

It may not be possible with that style of awning, but I was able to bolt the gutter to the mounts for the roller so it is permanently attached. I throw a couple bungees around it for travel, but it holds fine up to 80mph so far. I didn't need to splice it but I put a splicer in the middle to stiffen it up.(not shown)

Hi McDave... There is no way to get a bungee around the awning since the canopy is attached along the edge of the trailer. I will take it off for travel, but it sure will keep the sun off when I am in port. Thanks.

That should add years to the life of the fabric. They always disintegrate at that same spot that is exposed 365 days whether you are camping or not. $10.00 Worth every cent.

Just built and tested my grey water tank sensor prototype. It works great. I am using 1.25 in pvc which drops down through my 2 inch vent pipe which also holds this sensor vertical. As you can see (second pic) , air also escapes around it for venting. I may build one similar for the Backwater tank; however, I will field test this for a while and see how it goes. Given the place the sensor drops into the tank is on the "shelf", 1/3 = 1/2 and 2/3 = 3/4. Most concerned with the 1/2 and full anyhow (just need to know when to dump), but I will get a heads up at 1/2 and then a finer measurement until full as is. I could put in another tank grommet and make the sensor work on the full depth of the tank, but really not needed. This is good enough and the hole is already there. Will adjust some on final as I may be able to get 1/3 = 1/3 if I can get the first two sensors across from each-other and as close as possible to the bottom of this pipe (still need to cap however) and then equally space the other two from the bottom. It won't be exact... but close.

My plan is to put another cap on the end and just have a small hole for the wire feed thru which I can seal with silicone. Easy to pull out and clean. I just could not find what I needed on the market at a good price... so I built it and it works good enough. Now that I have a working prototype and I have lots of PVC... I'll dial it in.




This pic is looking down into 2in grey water vent pipe. The sensor pipe just rests on the bottom and is kept in place by larger vent pipe. Both sensor and vent stack will get capped when I am done. T in vent pipe goes to BW vent pipe. This should still breathe well. Plumbing has been working flawlessly.





This is what I used to build in addition to the PVC. It is just your standard sensor probe kit.

Help me out Don. Is that a standard "tank" probe kit? I do not recognize the red doo hickey. So I'm gonna guess a indicator light or IC? You did not mention a display and I see 4 wires with ring terminals and a couple without. So is there a meter somewhere? Light doesn't make sense if you cap it.... did you salvage the display from the Donor? ... ...

Yes, that is it. It is just a resistor network that steps the LEDs. I am using a very common display panel with LEDs and also has the water pump switch integrated into it. It is called a Micro Monitor. It is the panel right above the light switches.

I will probably hook up sensors in the BW and FW tanks just for completeness.

2 different personality types we are. I hang my jacket over my monitor panel
as the lights tend to become distracting over time. That and the fact that they
tend to attract 'stuff' even the FW ones (Calcium here), so they all tend to light
when you check them. I just dump them all every Sat. morning and I've had no
problems. Like most things, regular preventative maintenance keeps things working
fine.

Hank, I can see that happening in my case too.

My motivation primarily is the grey water. My Grey water tank in particular can fill up fast when my wife is with me. I hold over 64 gallons of fresh water and the grey water holding tank is somewhere about 25 gallons. Will dump on ground when boondocking in a place where it is acceptable, but need to be aware of the condition when in a parking lot or etc..

The BW tank is slightly larger and about 30 gallons. Never a problem so far and may use that to divert GW to in cases where I just need to get by in a parking lot overnight before moving on... so I will need to monitor that if I do divert.

I can see the level in the Fresh Water tank by opening an access door.

But I just can't help myself... I like gadgets and wires, plus I placed all the wiring during the build before I closed up the walls. I just need to hook them up. ;-)

I may just need to start another project... running out of stuff to do on this one. Is it possible to over do it on a CTC?
