Made in China

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Why do you think I was looking for a truck on eBay? I have to get a truck because everybody in Texas has a turck.

I was talking to my dad and got a few details on that beast. I thought it was a 22ft, it is actually a 31ft. Almost my whole teardrop longer than I thought.

BTW: my Mazda truck was made in New Jersey and one of my Honda Civics was made in Canada. I never checked the others.

Our light rail trains are required to be "made in America" as part of the Goverment funding. They are made by Siemens. All of the components are made in Germany, shipped over and assembled in Sacramento. Even the car shell is shipped in.
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

Now there's an interesting combo, a Brit car built by the Chinese in the US. Does this not make any sense to anyone else?

Frankly, I can't believe China could get away with building a factory here, with all the conflab about them shooting off those missles and their attitude towards the U.S. I just don't get world politics sometimes. :?

I think you're confusing them with North Korea. Personally, I think it's a great thing that they're building a factory here. The one thing that can best bring down communism is a good taste of capitalism.

there will never be a end to any of this. and the sad thing is how many areas this cancer is spreading through the u.s.
i do drywall constuction for a living and my cousin was the one who got my foot in the trade 15 yrs. ago. i was fresh out of the service when i started with him. he was hiring illegals to hang all of his sheetrock and was making a killing at it and i didnt think much about it at the time.
i moved on to a union construction company that ive been with for 14 years now and the crap that goes on is amazing.
there are alot of companys out there that are hiring their employees as independent contractors so they dont have to pay them any medical, etc.
so they are able to out bid alot of other companies.
then there are the illegals that are living 15 family members to a house. they all pool their wages together and can work for absolutely nothing and of course they are hired immediately because they are willing to work for nothing.
there have been alot of jobs that weve lost to other companies and it blows my mind that the reason they got the job,is because they bid the job for just a hair over the price of materials.
the thing that i keep hearing is they are taking the jobs that we dont. to some extent that might be true but i dont buy into it totally.
its sad to see in our paper that people are finally getting their citizinship after all the years of wanting to be an american and the process to do it takes as long as it does legally. and then you have families sneaking into the country having a baby, your tax dollars pay for it and then they are u.s. citizens.
sorry for my ranting. i just see all of this alot here in oregon and its obviously not an isolated incident, just like buying other products not made in the u.s.a.

I don't think we as a nation (U.S.) really care about bringing down communism any longer--as long as they're not hostile to the U.S.

Heck, you can have free elections and still be, economically, a Communist country.

We're at the point now where China is not trying to export it to other countries, and as long as we can do business with them, our philosophy has been the hell with their prison labor, forced abortions, and other policies most of would think are pretty backwards.

Cuba, Korea, some South Ameican Countries now--different story.

What scares the hell out of me about China is that they are obviously fast becoming the world's ONLY superpower, and their government is going to be something none of us bargained for. Communism with Capitalistic financial muscle.

Now THAT'S dangerous.
Here we go again!
