Finland & the Dudesons.....

Postby Arne » Thu Jul 13, 2006 9:33 pm

In the interest of investigating other cultures, I am watching the Dudesons. Jarno Laasala, Jukka Hilden, Jarppi Leppala and H. P. Parviainen do scientific experiments (I'm trying to be kind, here).... So, I was wondering if Classis Finn could tell me if they are popular in Finland?

Do any other teardropers watch the show, or are you all doing more 'constructive' things...

The Dudesons are the Finnish version of 'Jackass'.

I saw a little of the show tonight for the first time. What is it with shows like this and Jackass? It's like demolition derby with human bodies. I try to prevent that kind of damage to my flesh and bones. Seriously, I don't understand. They laugh because the brother breaks his ankle every time he does a trick. Idiots!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Greetings from Finland

Im not sure about how popular it is percentage wise but yes indeed the show is watched for sure..Ive watched a few of their shows. :o

These guys are totally nuts in what they do .... experiments that are in my opinion crazy...

Out of curiosity - Is that show on U.S. Television? Or is it a documentary
of Finnish Craziness?????

In summer I dont hang around the TV too much except for the News.. Summers are just too short to be inside...winter can be a different story however.. The names on the show are quite famous here in Finland...
Interesting that folks across the pond are watching it..

I have watched the show 2 times. I think the novelty for me will wear off quickly, but I like the type of things they do, like hang from trees, jump motobikes, etc. Some of the stuff is plain stupid, and I marvel at their outlook on life... Probably will wear off a lot quicker than American Chopper did.

The show has been picked up in over 12 countries.

Maybe it is the long winters that make them act that way?

Well, you have to understand that the Finns have a tradition of this, in Ski Jumping.
