Let me begin this post with a disclaimer: We are currently at about 95%+ completion, even though this journal doesn't reflect that. The push was on all winter to get her finished, but as Spring approached it was clear we needed a lot more time (and a little more $$) to have her complete by camping season. Therefore we took a break. From Designing. From Building. From Journaling. We went Camping. We laid down our tools, packed up the kids and we went. We Traveled. We Explored. We Created Memories. We enjoyed the fruits of our labor and the gifts of our creation! And that's where we're at. I need to finish up a couple doors, a few drawer fronts, a little trim here and there and the Dinette cushions. Otherwise we are there. All systems were go all summer and everything functions exactly as intended so I am very pleased. All electrical systems, lighting, A/C, Hot Water, water pump, tanks, etc., all working as designed. I couldn't possibly ask for more. (Which is good since this thing doesn't come with a warranty plan!) So, 5 months, a few thousand miles, many beautiful destinations, and loads of memories and laughs later, here we are. Happy. Satisfied. Blessed. This weekend we will take one more trip into the great outdoors before we winterize.
I'm ready to pick this thing up where I left off, so here goes. Hopefully there's still a few of you around!
Happy Building,
Michael
Catching up...
If you remember, we were building cabinets for the Galley. Bending Birch, making curves, spraying Lacquer, stuff like that.

So now we have upper cabinets installed, control panel installed, wiring for that all ran and tucked away to the 30A Fuse/Breaker box.

And connected all the connections for the LED backlighting

And a few built-in's to keep all our retro-atomic-age dinnerware in place

Trimmed out and complete

Enough for this round. When I get back I'll start in on the bathroom cabinets.
See ya soon.
