You might want to re-position your seals so that the cut/open ends are at the bottom, so that they won't collect water. Similarly, "weep holes" on window frames must be on the bottom, too.

One thing I got into the habit of doing when pulling a trailer. At every stop I would do a hub check. That means walk around and touch the hubs to check for hot bearings. On properly greased and adjusted bearings. The hub temp should be 100 degrees or less. If it is hot to a touch. Don't go any farther till the problem is found and fixed.
