Hello all! Newbie to the forum, here. Four years ago, after seeing a picture of a similar camper online, I basically jumped out on a limb, and decided to build my own. With minimal knowledge of campers, let alone building one, I dove in. I saw a few pictures online, and got the initial plan in mind. Then it was off to the races.
My plan was to build a camper that would be based on a 5x7 frame, but mine I wanted to have a narrower axel width. I wanted to build the body of the camper from steel, while trying to me mindful of excessive weight. Living in Florida, it had to have an air conditioner.
This was a frame-up project that I began in 2014. Before 2015, life threw a curve ball and the build came to an abrupt stop. Absolutely nothing done to it since October of 2018. I decided to resurrect my long lost build.
Over the course of it's downtime, it did sustain quite a bit of damage, eventually being exposed to the elements, so a bit of restoring had to be done before pushing further.
Looking back, I have no idea why I built some of the things that I did, more importantly, HOW I built them, so some changes were to be made also.
The biggest regret I have is my bizarre way of building the trailer frame, but that part will be left as is for now.
With all of that said, here are some photos from 2014, and the progress that was made before stopping.
